Happy Halloween! π
We want to see some creative costumes! Show us what you're wearing this year in the comments.
Self-care is one of the most important aspects of recovery. It's all about prioritizing the care of our health in ways that help us live well and feel our best. Self-care includes anything we do to refuel and recharge our mind, body, and spirit. It looks different for everyone, and our own definition may change over time. Even small acts of self-care in daily life can have a big impact.
How do you practice self-care?

On this day in 1979, the first National March on Washington for Gay and Le***an Rights, also known as the "Great March", took place in Washington, D.C. It was estimated that 125,000 LGBTQ+ people and their allies participated to demand equal civil rights and urge the passage of protective civil rights legislation. This march provided much of the framework from which 21st-century national LGBT advocacy and activism was built.π³οΈβπ
National Coming Out Day was first observed on October 11, 1988 and has been celebrated on this day every year since. Living in a world where there is acceptance, understanding and the freedom to live fearlessly as our authentic selves is essential to our wellbeing, and for some people coming out is part of this journey. Let this be a day of visibility, care and community, and learning what it means to welcome and support everyone as they are.

Today is . Take some time today to check in on your mental health and your loved ones. Together, we can eliminate the stigma surrounding mental health & mental illness.
shines a light on the challenges of millions of Americans impacted daily by mental health conditions. During this week, we have an opportunity to talk openly about mental health, to destigmatize mental health challenges, and to educate and equip ourselves and our communities.

Recovery Month not only celebrates the person in recovery, but the loved ones who support them. Families play an integral role in supporting the multiple pathways to & of recovery.
Atlanta GA - September 15
Friends, please consider attending an important Listening session to gauge community support in the establishment of a Family RCO. A Recovery Community Organization (RCO) is devoted to providing services to and tearing down barriers for those suffering from a substance use disorder. It is a grassroots community-based organization staffed by people in recovery. It provides
services to those seeking recovery and those who are affected by
someone with a substance use disorder. The Georgia Council on Substance Abuse will faciltate this important discussion Thursday September 15 at North Atlanta Church of Christ in Dunwoody, 6-8 with refreshments served. We need your voices. If you have a loved one in or needing recovery or are in recovery yourself, this meeting is for you.
Why a Family RCO? Many of you know that I (Beth) have many years experience as a family therapist. Yet when someone I love needed mental health and substance use services I was confused, overwhelmed, emotional and didn't know where to turn. I needed shoulder-to-shoulder support and help finding a pathway. An RCO offers that kind of help from people who have lived experience. A true COMMUNITY of support.
Join us to help make this vision happen!
There will be a Zoom option to join!
Recovery is not a universal experience or a single journey. There are as many pathways to recovery as there are people.

Rest, in all of its forms, is vital to our wellbeing. Whether it's journaling, reading a good book, catching up with a friend or just unplugging for awhile, recharge with the type of rest your body, mind, and spirit needs.

Each of our sanctuary homes has such a warm family vibe that you can feel the moment you walk in the door. Positive messages on our walls are everywhere and an uplifting feeling of encouragement radiates in every room. At Lambda HOPE, recovery really is for EVERYONE.
π
At Lambda HOPE, we create healthy communities through a full spectrum of residential continuing care services in a non-binary living environment. By providing guidance, sanctuary and support, we can eliminate the barriers that LGBTQ+ individuals experience when looking for recovery.
π
The lack of LGBTQ+ addiction recovery resources across the country makes it so critically important that we create safe places and eliminate barriers to entry for anyone in the LGBTQ+ community to find help.
At Lambda HOPE, we are committed to providing standards-based recovery care to LGBTQ+ communities and to help power true change where it is most needed.
