The Grant Park Mothball is a neighborhood tradition! The Mothball costume party is a Grant Park tradition that spans over four decades.
Back in the 1970s, it started out as a potluck dinner to thank everyone who volunteered for the Tour of Homes and was traditionally held the same weekend as the Tour. As time passed, the party grew bigger until it turned into its own event. Past themes have included everything from Moulin Rouge and pirates to James Bond and Saturday Night Live. Dear Friends, Neighbors, and Fellow MothBallians,
It is with great sorrow that we announce our decision to postpone “The MothBall” this year. Some issues have arisen during our final planning meeting that cause us to pause and step back. We've gone through every scenario to try and make it happen, and we did not feel we would be good stewards of GPNA's funds by having the MothBall at this time. We have the support of the GPNA Board on this as well and we are in consensus moving forward.
Any payments that have been made for tickets or tables will be refunded Monday through EventBrite and may take 5-7 business days.
We look forward to coming back in 2020 with a MothBall that will be best ever!
We thank you for your support and confidence and hope you understand our pause.

Mothball 2019 is on CELEBRITY STYLE!!! Time to pay tribute to your favorite deceased celebrity, dance with your neighbors, and find out for your heavenly self. Saturday, November 9th from 8pm to 12am.
Join your neighbors at Pin & Proper, located at the Beacon at 1039 Grant Street, Atlanta, GA 30315. Buy your tickets in advance for $45 or $55 at the door or the week of. This year we will have 10 tables at $450 each, which will seat 8 people, so get yours today before they sell out. The annual table centerpiece competition is ON! Who will win?
The Mothball is a historic costume party and fundraiser for the Grant Park Neighborhood Association. The proceeds go to help make Grant Park a better place for all to reside. The Mothball costume party is a tradition of fun and spirits that has lasted over 40 years.

The Mothball Costume Party is this Saturday from 8pm to 1am at Pin & Proper. We will have music, dancing, multiple contests with prizes, two special guests from a classic science fiction movie (total photo op for you), a food buffet, and a specialty Little Green Monster drink at the cash bar, where all proceeds from the event go to GPNA giving back to the neighborhood; we are a 501(c)3.
DJs Fernando F and George Greenlee (he used to DJ at Backstreet) will be spinning the tunes while you dance for our science fiction double feature themed costume party!!
The food buffet will include:
Hunger Games Nachos Bar
Godzilla Soy Ginger Wings
King Kong Buffalo Wings
Flying Saucer Sliders (Chicken and Angus beef)
Alien Dipped Fried Oreos

That’s right, GPNA’s annual Mothball costume party is happening November 17th from 8pm to 1am at Pin & Proper at the Beacon.
The theme this year is Science Fiction Double Feature. Remember the old days when science fiction movies were run on tv back to back. First Godzilla, Attack of the 50 Foot Woman, and then the Blob. Then sci-fi hit the movies in the 70’s and we got Star Wars and Star Trek. Now, we have Katniss and Wonder Woman. Come wear your best science fiction outfit. We will have a costume contest with prizes.
Come out and join your neighbors for a fun filled evening of dancing with our dueling DJs and have a blast. We still have a few tables left, but individual tickets are still available. The table decoration contest is always awesome!
