Run may be in the name, but Girls on the Run is much more than stretches and lap goals. In this after-school program, participants of all abilities learn to embrace their inner strength, make meaningful connections and give back to their communities. Here, girls learn skills that shape them into tomorrow’s leaders, with 97% of participants reporting they learned things at Girls on the Run that are important to them. Our Girls on the Run participants learn first-hand the power sport has to unite, ignite, and excite communities, which is why we’ve teamed up with adidas, who believes in creating a brighter future by breaking the barriers that exist in sport, for all. With them by our side, we’re making it possible for her to run a mile and run the world!

May is National Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, and Girls on the Run is proud to celebrate the rich history and diverse cultures of AAPI communities. This month, we honor the contributions and achievements of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders throughout history and celebrate the traditions that make their cultures unique. It’s essential to embrace and uplift their traditions to preserve their cultural heritage and histories. By learning about and celebrating their traditions, we can also build greater empathy, understanding, and respect for the experiences of our AAPI friends and neighbors.
