“Success is when the whole community rises together” -Babaluku.
When Dr. Danika Tynes, founder of SAF, first met her now dear friend Babaluku in Uganda in 2019, her life was forever changed. She realized that the American definition of success—equating it with financial status—was incomplete. Babaluku’s perspective, that true success is when everyone rises together, resonated deeply.
Today, the Sustainable Access Foundation (SAF) is driven by this profound truth. We are community-led, community-inspired, and committed to turning over every stone to remove barriers to access, so that we may all rise together.
Sustainable development is central to our mission, and we are excited to introduce Mwooyo as a key step in this journey.
Through Mwooyo, we aim to generate revenue to support the social entrepreneurship initiatives championed by SAF.

While temporary aid offers immediate assistance, sustainable access lays the groundwork for lasting transformation. It’s about creating pathways and systems that empower communities to thrive independently. 🌿🌟
We believe in fostering sustainable solutions that address the root causes of challenges, offering communities the tools and opportunities they need to break barriers and build sustainable futures. 🚀💡
At the Sustainable Access Foundation (SAF), sustainability is more than a buzzword—it’s our core mission.
We believe true sustainability involves breaking the cycle of dependency and fostering self-sufficiency within communities. Our approach is multifaceted.
At Sustainable Access Foundation, we’re fueled by a powerful vision: to provide essential funding and scaling strategies to communities.
Every day, we’re working tirelessly to break down barriers and ensure that every individual has the resources they need to thrive.
Together, let’s make this week one filled with progress, empowerment, and hope.
Through supporting our projects you not only empower one organization, your support has the potential to uplift neighboring areas and beyond.
Just like the Black Soldier Fly Project under Ento Farm provides training in waste recycling and agriculture to create sustainable livelihoods.
From sustainable businesses to innovative projects, each investment sparks a chain reaction of progress and empowerment.
Join us in celebrating the power of community-driven change and the ripple effect of sustainable development.

Supporting community projects isn’t just about immediate impact; it’s about sowing the seeds for long-term sustainability.
By investing in local initiatives and empowering communities, we lay the groundwork for a future where sustainability thrives.
Join us in supporting community-driven change for a brighter tomorrow.
Access acts as the gateway to opportunity, offering individuals and communities the means to unlock their full potential. Sustainable Access Foundation (SAF) recognizes that opportunity isn’t happenstance; it’s the bedrock of sustainability.
Through provision of resources and support, SAF empowers changemakers to innovate, create, and propel sustainable development in East Africa and beyond. We believe that when people have the chance to thrive, they become the architects of their own sustainable future.
Join us in nurturing access as the catalyst for sustainability, and together, let’s forge a world where every individual and community can prosper.
Let's kickstart the week with this reminder.
When communities are empowered to craft their own solutions, they take ownership of the process and outcomes. This fosters a sense of pride, self-reliance, and agency, which are essential for sustainable development and community resilience.
By harnessing the collective brilliance of communities, we can create lasting positive change that benefits everyone.
Introducing Denis Tibenkana, a visionary force at the helm of Bandera Farmers Network International (BAFANI) in Uganda, spearheading transformative initiatives in sustainable agriculture and community development. As the driving force behind BAFANI’s Agro-Processing initiative, this dynamic Changemaker is rewriting the narrative for Kamuli, Uganda, and beyond.
In a mere six months, thanks to an initial "Access" investment from SAF, BANFANI achieved remarkable milestones:
Acquired land
Erected the second Agro-Processing facility in Uganda
Introduced a pioneering Quality Control program
Amplified Maize flour production
Achieved a noteworthy profit of $6M Uganda Shillings
Reinvested Maize flour profits into six new community businesses, now funding education for Kamuli youth.
In an unexpected turn of events, youth pregnancy rates have plummeted by nearly half compared to the previous year. The proliferation of skilling and entrepreneurial opportunities in Kamuli has kept the youth engaged in personal and community development, reducing idle time for dating and empowering young girls to generate their own income.
Keep a close eye on BAFANI as they set Kamuli ablaze with transformative initiatives, soon to radiate across Uganda. These youth are resolute in their mission to break free from external support, embracing an environmentally-conscious circular economy model.
At SAF, we are overjoyed to be part of this journey, providing support and mentorship as we witness sustainable access in action.
Meet Martin Tenywa, industry disruptor and sustainable development innovator. This brilliant young changemaker, leading Ento Organic Farm's Black Soldier Fly Bio-tech Program, is making waves in sustainable development, community empowerment, youth employment, upskilling, increasing farmer income, and taking control of the fertilizer and animal feed supply chain; with a target goal of establishing a circular economy--through "Trash" (aka, waste).
In less than 7 months, with an initial “Access” investment by SAF, Ento Organic Farm has realized outstanding outcomes, and keeps going…
1. Established in-person and online Training Modules
2. Trained over 200 out-growers to earn sustainable income
3. Reduced and recycled over 10000kg of waste
4. Reduced the cost of premium fertilizer to farmers by 40%, thereby increasing farmer profit margins
5. Documented lessons learned and finalized a sustainable profitability model
6. Empowered Changemaker youth in Kawempe Ghetto to be self-employed and to take leadership roles removing waste and training other local youth
Wait, there is more!!
As a result of the successful prototyping of the BSF program, Ento Organic Farm has been awarded several additional accelerator accolades and expansion grants, and has inked partnership with Makerere University to sustainably produce quality fertilizers and engage their students in the scientific study and publication of the benefits of BSF in agriculture and economic development.
If you think that is astonishing in such a period of time…there is actually more!!
These youth are on a mission to never need outside resources again to support themselves and their communities….through an environmentally-conscious circular economy model. Over the months, we will continue to watch these emerging titans of social impact entrepreneurship.
At SAF, we couldn’t be more thrilled to support and mentor through the journey.
