Howdy friends, once again the time of month is coming for me to concoct what my next comic submission will be.
This is my submission for May, and if you follow along with my work, shares, and general demeanor, you know i think alot about how we are all linked intrinsically together, living life as “individual” selves but connected by the oxygen we breathe from the trees, the carbon dioxide we breathe out for them to take back in, the water we drink and extricate, by the sun we all are given form and live under, so when I create my comics I come with the intention to condense my own understandings and medicines into four panels, or less, which I find a worthy challenge, as simple communications can be the best gateways into a new lens on living, turning gateways in the mind.
I do my best to live authentically, be kind, and give things into the world that make it better than how I found it, because i know we are together, we are linked, family, not just with other humans, but with the land, the birds, the groundhogs, the dandelions, the soil, all of it, and i think we owe ourSELVES a more conscious and considerate role than what most of our ill-taught fathers and grandfathers passed on to us.
❤️ ✍🏼
I still have prints of last months tribute to the Solar Eclipse, if you want one for free, share the full comic (image 5) to your stories! I’ll deliver by 🚴 bicycle in Erie! Non-locals gotta pay postage! 💌🤷🏻😘
One of the biggest and most easily overlooked parts of what I do, when I’m at my drawing table shenanigans, is embedded in my signage. It is an art of its own.
When putting signs together i might ask, How succinctly can i communicate what i’m doing so that the onlooker just “gets it”? How quickly can I get a person to introspect and send them into what is good or works in their life? Maybe gift them back to themselves when they feel lost, even if they don’t get a drawing from me? Or maybe just give them enough intrigue to ask, what is an illustrated poem? At which point i inwardly say “LETS REEL EM IN 🎣 💰 ✍🏼 “
i’ve gone through many modes of clarity and scarcity, and looking back i can see when my focus wasn’t so pure. It’s rough to keep a human alive (the one yer in) when you aint got no trust fund, but i enjoy and savor the character i get to play in this life, do my little dance try to make money while keeping a sense of integrity, and leave this wild world (hopefully) a little sweeter, more colorful when i leave it. I hope my signs and my artworks reflect that.
Enjoy these snips of different periods of doodle-anthony, from today back to 2016.
Thanks to sweet mel for todays rad capture with my@newest sign, with our rugged dirt-monger Runo playing so domestic for the pic 📸 🤓 🐺 ❤️
Perhaps unsurprisingly, it is raining this morning in Erie PA. The forecast calls for a cloudy day, if not a wet one. Whatever the day becomes for you, i hope that it is one gifted with grace, humility, and intention, cuz thats what i’ll be conjuring for myself, alongside some joy, mirth, and wealth! The big plan today is to go take requests for illustrated poems and doodles at the “park side of the moon” event hosted by , 12-5, then i’ll be BACK at FEED Media ( ) throughout the evening for their eclipse after party. I don’t often bring my typewriter out for illustrated poems like this, so come visit me today if you’ve got a topic itchin your spirit! If you want a print of my solar eclipse inspired illustration featured in this months send me a message. They’re $5 each and i’m happy to save one for you if you’re not getting out today. 💋 🪄 ❤️ ✍🏼
I’m stoked to announce that this weekend, Friday thru Monday will be the Erie debut of my “Manifestation Station” Pop-up which I have performed alongside other friends and creatives in years past.
This will be a creative, collaborative smorgasbord hosted in the gift shop where attendees can request an illustrated poem or doodle based on any topic, including eclipse intentions, spiritual quandaries, pets, random words, or a foray into what brings them joy, and from these totems I will craft a doodle or an illustrated poem, some of which I may also incite the genius of Aaron Homerski ( ) themself to help me bring to life!
I will also have art prints (including my new Fridge Comic from the latest zine honoring the eclipse), t-shirts, and mini zines for sale alongside Aaron’s magical crochet masks, clayworks, and
prints which are already on display in the shop.
The Manifestation Station pop-up will be open at the Feed gift shop on:
Friday 6-9,
Saturday & Sunday 12-6
*Eclipse Day* Monday 6-10 (During the FEED eclipse after-party)
Prior to my arrival at Feed on the day of the eclipse, I will be setting up my renegade poem and drawing station at “Park Side of the Moon” at Frontier park (aka Lake Erie Arboretum), where Phunkademic will be performing their immaculately delivered cover of “Dark Side of the Moon” alongside other acts just prior to the eclipse itself, which I am super excited to be present for, and I’ll have my special eclipse prints there with me as well.
I hope to see you and hope you’ll help me introduce a little more magic and levity into the world that I might venture to say we all (in spite of our varying perspectives) know we are in dire need of.
❤️ ✍️
Ive not been posting much lately, and just taking time to avert my attention from the fabrications of an app inside a small black brick in the palm of my hand, has worthwhile health and well being benefits. Humans haven’t been my favorite lately, but i know its important to foster deeper appreciation and luster for joy, fun, play when the tyrants run amok, like surely one of our greatest forms of resistance and dissension is to dance and take in the free warmth of the sun when it prods through the clouds, to pause to praise the precious nature of the evening crickets, a familiar morning birdsong, the squish of cold mud between the toes.
This comic, which made its debut in this months issue of the is dedicated to whatever that cherished moment might be for you. The thing that heartens and strengthens you. Don’t let the fools and manipulators of this world take you into their made-up mind-game. And daily i’m reminding myself not to make those who struggle next door to me in these class and caste systems, racisms, ageisms, black-and-white-left-and-right-isms, into my enemy. That is exactly, exactly, what the acclaimed rulers need in order to keep doing all of their nefarious bu****it.
Happy Monday. ❤️ ✍🏼
Very grateful for the succinct and affirming review for my little Live EP "Live in Erie" in the new by
I've been at play for many years writing songs that help me to digest the world we live inside of, and not only to continue to embrace what is given, but to ask for more than what I was told was possible.
That work/play doesn't seem to end, the world keeps spinning, the only constant is change, tyrants rise and fall and new ones rise again (largely driven to their own delusion by the blunders of the previous)
It's maddening to see what humans do to manipulate and control others lives instead of tending to their own garden. That so many pained fools run about making decisions on behalf of a populace that does not conform to conformity.
When I'm overwhelmed by thoughts of the cages both literal and energetic, I feel heartened when I sit down and play my songs alone in my apartment, so when I choose to record or share them, what drives me most is that wee little percentage that someone listening might hear themselves in the levity of the verse or the swing of the melody.
If you dont care much for the imperfect nature of my new EP, consider giving some of my previous singles and EP's a listen wherever you "do" music, I gave my 3 song conceptual EP "Annihilation" a fresh listen on a recent road trip and it's interesting feeling to be separated over time from the pressure of creating and releasing something, to finally sit and listen and think "this is pretty good, I'd listen to this guy" 🤷
The attached pictures span living and playing outside of my tent with my good ol’ buddy Woof in someones backyard in Austin TX in 2016 (i paid to live there), jammin along with my friend in Marfa, playing barefoot beneath a billowing flag in Angel Fire NM, big-bearded at some open mic god-knows-where, and jamming with my old High Ideals buddies in front of slow projected Acequia River footage the High Frequency Loft in Taos.

Heres a couple recent v-day commissions.
I’m still free the evening of valentines day if theres anyone lookin to hire a renegade doodler ✍🏼 and if you’re local to erie i can still make and deliver a joyous lil heart-filled doodle customized for you and your sweetie before v-day.
❤️ ✍🏼
Happy Black History month. And also, black present and future. Some of the best, most joyous and freeing things i’ve seen and heard in art and culture in the americas have come from powerful melanated human beings, like Bob, who take a stand for true magic, love, freedom, oneness, and expression in a world that often seems damning and stifling of these heralded values.
This little quote is powerful to me, as it points in a way to an unwinding of mental conditionings that one must choose to undo largely on their own, in order to see the majesty and beauty in all of life on our planet and the cosmos, but sometimes it helps for someone to give you permission, a little push, a reminder that you are much more powerful and free than you may have been led to believe, and we are stronger ourselves together when you too are freed.
~~~”help me sing”~~~
This was on my radar for potential comics to submit to the erie reader this month, but I chose to go with another, more earthen reflection.
Pick up the latest issue to check it out, and many other articles and insights that speak to the state of culture in Erie, a gem we have many humans to be grateful for and bear witness to.
If you’re looking for a PRO-fessional doodler for your next event (i’m still free for V-DAY) wedding, birthday, market, whatevaa, message me! My rates are flexible! Making Mini portraits and bringing joyous, loving, goofy doodles is one of my favorite things to do!
Also! I’m available to make one-off Valentines day commissions at $20 a pop!
With just a photo reference I can make a 2x3 ink & watercolor drawing of you and your valentine, and get it to you in its own little frame before lovers day.
DM me, or comment “PLZ send DOODS” if you want to order a heart-loaded commission for yourself or a loved one, even if its your gramma!
P.s. ( now seems as good a time as any to say, vday is a loaded consumer capitalist holiday that all kinds of corporations and small businesses like me cash in on to make a buck. Dont let yourself be mystified to believe you’re broken if you dont have someone to shmooze with. Today, as well as vday, is as good a day as any to love and acknowledge yourself for who you are, and how you’ve come to be where you are, and all you’ve been though, still living and looking for the magic in the world, and that takes gusto!) ✨
Believe me when i tell you, i didnt want my first published Fridge Comic to be so damn heavy. I wanted it to be joyous. But it seemed, and still seems pertinent to shine a light on the tragic and incomprehensible violence that Palestinian people are enduring under the conquest of an entitled and fully delusional Israeli military force that dehumanizes, targets, bombs, and kills them with sheer indifference. How does one who feels so powerless to the war games of sick humans still foster joy and innocence inside themselves?
I do not have a steadfast answer.
i daily seek my own.
Killing, lying, speaking jargon, justifying, and silencing are the game-makers and the takers only defenses.
Their hearts are weak, and their heads are full of wasps.
Pity them.
There is no justification for such violence against the majesty of life.
Grieve for the bloodied bodies you see, “casualties” of war (as though war is casual) they are not unlike you, not unlike me, not unlike the people you see daily in your life. It could be you one of these days, your fingernails raw from scraping up concrete, desperate to find your partner, your mother, your daughter, your friend beneath tonnes of hopeless dust, concrete, and bent steel beams. They were so happy and alive with you just hours earlier…
R.I.P. Naïveté
Maybe February’s comic will have a lighter tone? We’lll seeeee honeyyy beeeee 🐝
My unsolicited advice? Yeah, old habits gotta die. Its the winter, its a time when the trees lie naked, exposed, their leaves slowly decomposing into the soil, re-nourishing the roots for new growth in the spring. When i see the trees as an extension of myself (because they are), i realize how much they teach, simply by their wholesale abandon to their nakedness in the world. They know the cold is a medicine, they know it is a part of whats true…they do not let their branches droop, they shed their weight and stand resolute, dancing in the snow and wind and rain…
❤️ ✍🏼
And you’re welcome for the Rush
In further celebration of ‘s birth I’ve also released my “Live in Erie” EP to bandcamp, which includes “An Other Shoe”, “Tower Burn”, “Peace to your Heart” and the previously unheard recording of “Ruse”. It will be up on all other streaming services over the next few days, but I wanted to give anyone who supports my work the opportunity to purchase and download it first, as streaming royalties can be…sparse!
Check it out via my profile link
I’m releasing 3 videos from the PACA performance this week, and i’m releasing them separately because i know that if i’m finding it hard for myself to keep my attention on any one thing for very long, i’m sure I’m not the only one, and it feels best to share in small doses, so that the medicine of each song has its time to settle, without being railroaded by a surge of clapping and moving on to the next songs energy. If it aint for you it aint for you, but if it touches you, help me out by sharing my reels, hunting down my youtube page, and boosting what i do with likes and comments. If you havent figured it out by now, the algo likes that.
“Tower Burn” video coming tomorrow,
“Peace to Your Heart” on Friday
Live at PACA EP on your music streaming services… VERY soon.
Sometimes a shift in perspective can be just one visit to gramma away.
I’m honored to have had my very first concept of “Fridge Comics” printed in the newest issue of the , which also features the “Best Of” award winners from 2023!
I’m feelin into my experimental bag in this new year, finding better ways to communicate and uncork what sometimes feels like creative constipation, but really the silence and slowness are my way of getting to whats important, seeing the world humans create in all of its beauty and its confundity and looking for the medicine that soothes our ails.
I’m very grateful to have had the opportunity to go on a lil cross country trip to Santa Fe with my sweetie and Runo this last week, soaking up the road, enjoying kansas for once, seeing dear friends, and I’m also grateful to say i submitted my first comic to the to be published in their january issue. My creative wheels are turnin and it feels good. I’m on the amtrak back to erie, soaking up snowy views from the observation car and doin some doodling and writing.
