Did you know that July 31 is Uncommon Instrument Awareness Day?

Some of these instruments are uncommon in symphonic music and are heard more often in other genres, but others are truly one of a kind! (Violimba, anyone?)

We were pleased to honor her at the ASO’s Gala in May for her work planting seeds of change in the classical music ecosystem, and we celebrate her today—on the occasion of her 99th birthday—and every day.
Join us in wishing Mrs. Hill a very happy birthday!
