It is yet another wine coming from the Mendoza region of Argentina, which stands at the forefront of a chardonnay revolution.

This is a rock-star bottle from the region, and it comes with dried-apple, pear-skin, crushed-stone and peach-pit character. It has a full body and creamy texture with a phenolic form and a long, flavorful finish.

Incredibly smooth, elegant and complex, Veraton by Bodegas Alto Moncayo is a pure expression of Garnacha, the reigning variety of Campo de Borja. Old vines of native Garnacha clones produce this benchmark red, with a deeply perfumed bouquet of incense and dark berries. Notes of blackberry and roasted cocoa beans linger on the palate, with velvety tannins and an extremely pleasant finish.

Red Electra Moscato, first released in 2000, is garnet red, tastes of succulent cherry, berry, and pomegranate, and has a slight sparkle. That’s why Red Electra tastes like a bowl full of cherries!

Proof of Terroir? Researchers Dig Deep into Argentine Malbec A study from the Catena Institute of Wine finds chemical evidence that the soils in which a vineyard grows leave an indelible stamp on the wine.

There were seven 99-point wines in our recently published Argentina tasting report, out of 1,800 wines tasted in total. Three came from Catena Zapata's 2019 vintage - whose wines are becoming more and more refined.

The Adrianna Vineyard White Bones 2019, especially is the epitome of Argentina’ s best chardonnays from a 2.5-hectare block at 1,450 meters, with its focused perfumes underlined by beautiful ripeness and complexity with an almost endless finish. It's something probably only the top Grand Cru Chablis aim to achieve.
