It's been a few years since I purchased my current studio computer. I originally started with an Intel 660P, 1 TB C drive (other drives for sessions and virtual instruments), and 64 GB RAM of OC RAM.

Recently, I went to upgrade the firmware and drivers on my computer and discovered that my Intel M.2 drive was no longer supported! This was actually good timing since I needed to upgrade my hard drive anyway. I cloned the Intel onto the new Samsung SSD

Now, the computer has a brand new NVME m.2 Samsung 970 Evo SSD 2 TB C drive and 128 GB, dual channel OC RAM.

Pro Tip

I have found that the best music studio computers are actually gaming computers!

Over the past three weeks, I've been scoring a feature film, and it's been so much fun! It's full of drama, action, deception, mystery, and a secret society that holds people accountable!

Now, I'm on to writing for some killer briefs and three albums for some fantastic music production companies! I've already started working, and I've finished a couple of tracks! Wait until you hear what I'm "cooking" up!

🎵✨ Overcoming Challenges: A Lesson Learned! 🌟🙌

I want to share a story of determination and seizing opportunities that came my way. It all started with a music brief for a captivating docuseries that landed in my inbox one early morning at 7 am.

At first, I was tempted to let the busy day ahead distract me. Thoughts of "I'll catch the next one" crept into my mind. But then, in a moment of clarity, I realized that I needed to push myself and "just do it!"

So, I planned my schedule for the day and picked a time to start on the track. In the afternoon, I dove into the brief, fully aware of the limited time I had. In just four intense hours, I composed a track that captured the essence of the series, referencing the brief every so often to make sure that I was matching the brief. The afternoon came, and despite the tight schedule, I managed to complete the mix, leaving only the mastering stage unfinished. ⏰

With the deadline looming the next morning at 7 am EST, I made a bold decision. I set my alarm for 5 am, determined to wake up early and put the finishing touches on the mastering.

Days passed, and I received news that my track had been chosen for the docuseries, set to be aired internationally! I was blown away and felt grateful for the opportunity!

This experience taught me two valuable lessons—one that I will carry with me throughout my musical journey. It reminded me of the importance of making an effort, even when faced with obstacles or busy schedules. It showed me that by fully participating and putting in the work, I can achieve the results I aspire to. And the second was a lesson in being prepared! At this moment, I was glad that I had taken the time to develop a music-writing strategy. If I had not taken the time to improve my organization, workflow, orchestration, templates, mindset, and efficiency, I would not have been ready to create a track in the short time frame.

I want to encourage everyone reading this to take chances, step out of your comfort zone, and embrace the opportunities that come your way. Sometimes, it's in those moments of uncertainty and pushing through that the most remarkable achievements unfold.

Here's to always being ready to face challenges, to making the effort, and to witnessing the incredible results that follow!

🎵 Reflecting on an incredible year! 🎶 I can't believe it's been six months since I attended the LA Film Conducting Intensive. 🎬✨ This experience has truly been a game-changer for me as a music composer.

I had the privilege of studying with some of the absolute legends in the music industry, and their knowledge and expertise have helped me think about music, composition, conducting, and orchestration in new ways! This experience was several masterclasses rolled into one!

I am forever grateful for the opportunity to work with these musical giants who have been involved with some of the most iconic soundtracks of our time. 🎥🎶 Their wisdom, guidance, and mentorship have been invaluable in my journey as a composer.

Thank you again to Angel Valez, Conrad Pope, Booker White, William Ross, Jorge Mester, and Emilie Bernstein. Additionally, thank you, Jorge, for reminding me to feel the music, to hear the music, and most of all, to dance! 😊🌹🎶

Sharing this experience with the other fellows and friends who attended from Atlanta made this even more memorable! Spending the week together was incredible, and friendships were formed, which is most special to me. I still warm up in the morning with exercises that Emilie taught us each morning! Since then, I've seen many accomplish great things, and I'm thrilled to see their success!

There is no time like the present to take action. You can become a successful composer in today's world, and success can look different for each of us.

Will life throw you some curveballs? Absolutely! Will you learn a lot? I hope so. It's how you respond to these situations that make the difference. Find a way to move forward.

Having a curious mindset and positive outlook helps to make learning fun. Find ways to connect with what you are learning, and it won't be forgotten by dinner time! 😉💯

How does this relate to music? Think about all the music that you've started and not finished. You still have the dream of getting your music on TV and film, right!?

It's time to finish your music! Even if you take baby steps forward, you are still moving forward. Careers are not all built overnight or at the same speed or time frame.

You've probably heard the phrase, "It only took 10 years to become an overnight success!" I can't take credit for the phrase, but it does happen. I've read composers' stories, and this is often a reoccurring theme that is shared. Not always, but often.
