Puppy Yoga was a success!
Thank you to everyone who joined us for Puppy Yoga at Be Yoga ! We're excited to share that the event raised an amazing $980 for CARE! It was heartwarming to see our puppies enjoying more exposure and socialization. A special shoutout to our fosters for handling drop-offs and pick-ups, and to our incredible volunteers who made it all happen.

Happy Gotcha Day. We had a great day with 4 adopitons -- Dokie, Hamburglar, Erica and Wonda. We also had 2 cats released to TNR and 5 new stray intakes. We will be open tomorrow from 12-5 cst and don't forget our kitten adoption special!

🐾 Adina had to make one more appearance as Pet of the Week! 🐾 We are also so happy to announce that the Kent McCown Group; Coldwell Banker Alliance is sponsoring Adina for the month of June! She was so excited when she heard, she demanded a photo op and for CARE to interview her foster about her 💞 Q: What has been your favorite part of fostering Adina? A: I love how she's come out of shell and gotten more confident. Her pictures seem to show her always serious, but she can be goofy too. Q: What would you say Adinas ideal home would be? A: She loves her people and loves to snuggle and be in your personal space. She likes to butt in when I am trying to pet one of my dogs so if another dog would need to be tolerant of that. She loooooves car rides and going places, she can be a bit timid of new environments and people but has grown in her confidence and opens up quicker. She can be dog friendly, she prefers a dog with mild energy, and slow introductions with other dogs are a must. She likes to chase cats outside on our walks so maybe no cats. Q: Are there any tips for success with Adina that you have? A: Her crate is her safe place and goes in there a lot with door open, and if you keep up with obedience, she's great. We have been working on lay down and stay with "break" as the release word. I have used a starmark collar cause she can be a bit pully when she sees something she wants. Q: Is there anything else you would like to add about her? A: She's just a sweet dog who has a good temperament. She doesn't bark much but will "talk" when she is not so patiently waiting on her dinner, or if it's getting close to her walk time, she lets you know it. She goes by Addie and knows her name.
