"My daughter was tutored by Lauren last school year and we couldnāt have asked for a better fit for her. Lauren was patient, friendly, well-organized, and always had new and creative ideas to help her learn math. Her approach of teaching was always positive and helpful. We give Lauren five stars!! (J.T.B.)"

Happy new year! Iām so thankful for all of my clients! Just wanted to share this kind text that I received the other day from a parent of one of my students. Being a positive role model is one of the reasons I love to teach kids! šāļø
Super proud of my student who got a 100 on her quiz after we studied together! š„³
3 reviews from students that I have worked with! (:
Tutoring with Lauren was a great way to learn and understand the material we were working on while also involving fun ways to learn it. Anytime I was stuck on something or did not fully understand a problem Lauren would make sure I understood the steps to solving the problem before moving on to the next. Tutoring with Lauren was all in all a great choice and definitely paid off! (Orrin S)
I really liked the tutoring because it allowed me to fully understand the concepts of what we were learning instead of learning the material enough to complete the homework. I found having a full understanding of the concepts very beneficial as I progressed through the different levels of math. I also enjoyed how we kept it fun and still remember doing soccer math shootouts! (Ellis S)
I like tutoring because Lauren makes it so much fun and makes learning fun. (Elizabeth G)

Do you want to homeschool your children, even though you have another job or donāt feel comfortable teaching? I have 2 solutions for you!
First, I will be offering full day 8 am-2 pm homeschooling for 2 to 3 days per week for kids ages 8-11. This program will be 12 weeks and will be offered in Durham, NH. I am looking to work with about 4-8 kids. Classes include math, english, nature, history of NH, cooking, cleaning, grocery shopping, budgeting, art, music, movement, creative time, movement, mindfulness, games and I am open to other suggestions. There will be lots of time for kids to ābe kids'' and learn from each other. I also would like to incorporate their interests into the lessons.
Secondly, I will be offering classes that will be 12 weeks and 2 hours a week. The classes include arithmetic (elementary math), pre-algebra, algebra 1, geometry, math is everywhere (a non-traditional math class), and a cooking class. I am looking for a minimum of 4 kids per class and maximum of 16. I will only accept 8 in person students and 8 online students for the math classes.

READ THIS! For homeschooler parents! I currently have some limited openings for tutoring for homeschool students for the last few months of the school year.
It is crazy to me that it is almost April. This is the perfect time to check in with your child and see how they feel like they have been doing this school year. Do they want more support? Are the topics they are working on too easy or boring for them? Or have they been enjoying their work and feel equally challenged and confident?
I currently have some limited openings for homeschool students for the last few months of the school year. And I want to make your child LOVE learning! The thing is, I believe that all students have the ability to succeed with their education. But, the path to success takes confidence, the willingness to learn, and a teacher who believes in the student.
Please PM me with any questions you may have. Or visit my website mindzonthemove.com for more information!
I got to watch Colby play in his soccer game today! He scored 2 goals & they won! I love spending time with my students outside of our sessions!
Unfortunately due to lack of interest we have to cancel our SAT prep course for March. Please be on the lookout for updates on new dates for the same course! Thank you!
After teaching myself how to skim board for a week, I saw two girls attempting to skim board on their own. After talking with their parents, I gave them a mini lesson! They loved it! And I loved it too because I love to teach and work with kids!
Later that night, they delivered me a homemade card to thank me for helping them. It was so thoughtful.

The message from this post is that, even if your are not a professional at somethingā¦ you can still teach others with the skills and knowledge that you have. And when you acknowledge that you are not perfect and are still learning too, this makes the student feel much more comfortable learning from you(:
Iām so glad that I got to tutor one of my students in person while I was in Florida! My parents are close friends with her Dad! We worked on her Algebra 2 homework and then ate dinner together!

Everyone wants to learn from the moment they are born!
Today I went to a JV hockey game to cheer on one of my students! And I learned a lot of new things about the game. I didnāt realize there were off sides based off of the lines on the rink.
Itās crazy! We are learning all the time. I believe itās important to make sure that everyone knows they can learn anywhere and anytime.

Letās talk about mistakes and being wrong š«£
Today I share this post with you all because I want to be vulnerable. During my session today, I made a simple arithmetic error. Instead of multiplying by 1/8 I multiplied by 8/1.
As humans we all make mistakes from time to time. And as a teacher it is important to be open about your mistakes. By telling your students that āI made a mistake.ā This will allow students to feel more comfortable and confident taking risks and asking questions. These mistakes will allow students to grow as learners.

Dear Reader,
Who am I? This profoundly simple and yet so complex question, has countless ways for me to answer.
ā” I am a women
ā” I am 23 years old
ā” I am a teacher
ā” I am an athlete
ā” I am a lifelong learner
I was a very bright girl who made 12 piece puzzles at two and could count 100 when I was four. When I was five years old I was so eager to learn and go to school. My mom said I didnāt understand why I could go to school even though I turned 5. My birthday is in December so I had to wait 8 months until I could go and we counted down each month until I finally got to go. I fondly remember being in Kindergarten and was annoyed because the math was so easy for me. My mom talked to the school and they got me an advanced packet, but I struggled because I didnāt get much help.
