FINALLY HOME
Jenna has started initiating rolling from her back to her side. She's also working on learning the motions to sit up (it's been a work in progress for a while).
Let me know if you'd like a Tracheostomy Awareness ribbon decal! ππ€ I'm attaching the correct Google form this time. π
We still need several more to reach our fundraising goal! Funds go to support local families going through the process of getting their child's trach.

*I edited with the correct form link.
Jenna will soon get to trial a Passy Muir valve!
This is also known as a PMV or a speaking valve.
This still allows her to breath on her own during her vent breaks, but it pushes her exhale up through her mouth and nose. This will allow her to speak amd make more noise!
Hopefully she tolerates it; it does make breathing just a little harder. We picked it up today and will try it out when we return to pulmonology.
How cute is our Toby Tracheasaurus puppet from Passy Muir?! We won him during a giveaway.
ππ€ We still need to sell several ribbons to hit our fundraising goal! Here's the order form if you'd like a Tracheostomy Awareness ribbon:

In honor of Tracheostomy Tube Aware week, please share!!
Here's a look at a few local kiddos who are thriving with their trachs. π₯°
Wow!
Interesting fact, humans are not the only ones who have trachs. This little guy, Hogan, is a permanent member of the Trach community and he is so loved by his fur parents! He developed an issue with his larynx. It began to collapse so the vet gave him a permanent tracheostomy.
Its Global Tracheostomy Tube Awareness week!
Can you find Jenna in her little red dress? πβ€οΈ
They'll be another video coming later this week.

1st Mother's Day vs 2nd Mother's Day π
Jenna decided she wanted to help us with her nebulizer treatment this morning. π
Jenna has physical therapy every other week. We're working on tummy time, rolling, side sitting, kneeling, & being on our hands & knees. π
Today is day 3 of back-to-back days of appointments. π« We usually space them out better, but it just wasn't possible this time.
Yesterday, Jenna had her 1 year check up! She's doing great. We'll start seeing Nephrology soon to manage two medications that she's already on, but they had no new concerns. π
Jenna is also able to aim for up to 6 1/2 hours off the vent this week.
She's currently 18lbs 9oz & 67.5 cm long (2 ft 2.25 inches). Keep in mind that she started life at 2.219lbs! π

This is how I was shown to identify safe suction for my daughters trach, using an inline catheter.
A glimpse into our NICU stay.
Why does Jenna need her current equipment?
I'm planning to start sharing more trach-related and educational content on Jenna's page. π
If you have a trach baby, I highly recommend having one of these on hand. This was recommended to me by another trach mama.
Tonight, Jenna decided her messy play would be in Mama's tacos. π€£
Reminder, her birthday party is Sunday, & birthday is Tuesday! Its almost been an entire year!!

One year ago today, we "moved" into the hospital....
Jenna spent some time outside with the dogs today! They were, surprisingly, very calm and got to stay on the porch with us.
Jenna's birthday party is 3 weeks away! If you're local and would like an invite, please let us know. π
She does have a registry with medical items & a few toys (some items were recommended by some of her therapists).

11 months old!
Also, Jenna sat on her own today for 14 minutes!! π
Today Jenna did a total of 3 1/2 hours iff the vent, with one of the vent breaks being 1 1/2 hours! This is the longest she has gone at once.
Also, yesterday, Jenna went FIVE MINUTES being off the vent AND completely off her oxygen. π
I'm part of a support group for other trach families going through the trach process.
Help our group support families going through the trach process in the hospital! Our group is going to be meeting with families and helping them through their hospital stay through community and a glimpse at the other side. All profits benefit this cause π₯°

Jenna is now up to THREE HOURS off the vent each day!
We still several appointments each month, for various specialists or therapies. The next time we see Pulmonology, Jenna will be ONE!
π©΅ Today, Jenna surprised Dada and woke him up.
π We went outside and enjoyed the sunshine.
π Jenna got to pet both dogs & get doggy kisses!
π©· If you're local and interested in coming to Jenna's party April 14th, please let me know. A few have asked for a gift list, so I'll attach it below. π

Jenna can sit up for FIVE MINUTES without our help!
She doesn't like learning forward to sit, so the pads help her hands reach something instead of the floor.
