Book restock for the Tucson Miniature Showcase!

I think these are all the books I'm bringing with me to the Tucson Miniature Showcase next month.

There are a whole bunch of titles that sold at the Denver Museum of Miniatures, Dolls and Toys Fall Show a few weeks back, and a bunch of titles I haven't had out either in a while, or ever! I love making books, but now it's time to turn my attention to... potions, I think. I'll show those off over on my OTHER miniatures page - Wylde Kingdom Miniatures if you're interested.

Now to get these all packaged up and ready to go! I might feature a few here between now and when I leave for Tucson (the show is the 20th & 21st of October so I'll be hitting the road on the 19th!)

So the Denver Museum of Miniatures, Dolls and Toys Fall Show was last weekend and it was AMAZING. OMG, what a great show. It took me a couple days to just recover.

A LOT of my books found new homes, which is awesome, but it means I have to make a bunch MORE books for the next show - the Tucson Miniature Showcase October 21st & 22nd!

So while I'm making new books to show you, I thought I'd show you someone ELSE'S books!

It was so busy at the Denver show, they opened up the exhibit hall early just so the dealers would have a moment to go down and see the exhibits! So cool! I'm so glad they did, 'cause I don't think I would've been able to see them otherwise, and I would've missed out!

This is a little bookstore done by Nancy Martin! It's part of an entire "Street of Shops" which she finished just beautifully. And to be honest, I'd never seen a full, finished Street of Shops before. She does amazing work and I'll post more pictures of her stuff over on Wylde Kingdom Miniatures if you want to see.

So now I want ALL the books AND a Street of Shops! D'oh! :)

What a great show this was. And now I'm really looking forward to the next one! Yay Tucson!! More miniatures!

Making stuff is much more fun than packaging stuff, but I guess they're both important.

My mini books get packaged in a couple of different ways: the hardback books go in little plastic boxen and the paperback/comic books get little plastic bags with headers on them. Seems to work.

Getting everything all priced and ready to go for the Denver Museum of Miniatures, Dolls and Toys Annual Fall Dollhouse Miniature Show Public Sales Days in just EIGHT DAYS!!!!

GAAH!!!! (Runs around screaming, flailing arms over head like Kermit the Frog)

And now.... back to packaging and pricing! Oh, I've got a few more things to make too, but for some reason I feel more creative and like making things more at night. -shrug-

Things I was not expecting to say 9 days before the Denver Museum of Miniatures, Dolls and Toys Annual Fall Dollhouse Miniature Show Public Sales Days:

"Man, I wish I'd gotten an 8' table. "

I really thought I'd have a hard time just filling a 6 foot table, but nope, I probably really could've used that extra 2 feet. Who knew? Well, I know for next time, I guess. :)

Feeling much calmer now that I'm kind of seeing how the table is going to fill out. I think this is going to be so great! I might do a couple more spooky books, but I think this is a nice selection for my "spooky" section of the table. I hope you think so too!

I thought this countdown thing was such a great idea, and it has been SUPER fun, but 10 days before the Denver Museum of Miniatures, Dolls and Toys annual Fall Dollhouse Miniature Show Public Sales Days, I think I need to focus on being READY for the show (-whispers- I am sooooo not ready for the show). There is so much to pack and inventory and then there's figuring out what my table is going to look like, and a layout and .... GAH!!!!

All this to say, I will post here when I can, but I'm not going to stress myself out with trying to keep the countdown going.

20/30 - The Discoverie of Witchcraft

Oh wow, so many thanks to TC Tahoe for taking care of my social media while I was off at the the Rock N Rumble! You guys, let me know if you'd like to see more guest posting on my Instagram, or if you think I should bring that TC character back again sometime.

Today I've been working on potion ingredients in bottles and that made me realize I really need to do a little potion book. D'oh! But until then, I'll show you this little book I did.

David Parr, Magician suggested making a tiny, dollhouse version of The Discoverie of Witchcraft. I wasn't sure I'd be able to pull it off, since it's a very big book. He (wisely) suggested "Well just do the magic parts, with the illustrations" which is exactly what a magician like David would say. So I did. And it's CUTE! You'll have to come see it for yourself September 9th & 10th at the miniature show! Maybe your dollhouse bookshelf could use a lovely classic book like this one.

This is a tiny version of the Cicely Mary Barker Flower Fairy book. I just think it's so pretty. I love her illustrations, and I might have to make more of her books in miniature too. We'll see. For now, you can find this one at the Fall Miniature Show!

These are more comic books from my father's collection, shrunk down to tiny size. I love them, and Archie always cracked me up when I was a kid (though it's a little different now as a [theoretical] grown up).

I'm trying to make some books on the "spookier" side of things, because witches like to read and have awesome bookshelves too.

A little book of Necromancy and a little book of Black Magick Spells & Curses might be just the thing for an extra spooky, Halloween bookshelf.

I posted another set of books over on Wylde Kingdom Miniatures , that is about the polar opposite of these in terms of adorable sweetness.

This little spell book has slightly fancier cover. I like the lighter colors, since it's a spell book for love.

I don't remember how I stumbled across this book, but it's delightful and I'm glad I did. It's a story about a little fairy named "Wonderwings" who is coming to understand the human world.

If I ever have a sudden shrinking accident, I'll be happy to be able to read it again, in my new tiny home. :)

06/30 - A Very Merry Christmas Treasury

A bad headache took me out today! I didn't get much done, and I nearly missed my countdown photo for today! But here I am!

Today's book is a tiny treasury of Christmas stories. I made this from stories in the "My Book House" series that my father has had since he was very, very young.

05/30 - The Velveteen Rabbit

When I started making dollhouse books, there were several titles that I KNEW needed to be in my dollhouse. One of them was the Velveteen Rabbit. It's a favorite of mine, and it makes me cry every time I read it.

And if I ever have a sudden shrinking accident, I will read it again, in the dollhouse I move into.

04/30 - Comic Book: Wonder Woman and the Phantom Fisher Bird

My father still has his comic books from when he was a kid, and this was one of them. I have the say, the "Phantom Fisher Bird" is a pretty creepy looking villain. But it's a fun comic book anyway. That TC Tahoe character helped me clean up the scans from the original, and I think it came out GREAT! Thank you for your help, TC!

All my little books, and comic books, and whatever else I print out and make between now and then, will be on display at the Wylde Kingdom Press table at the Denver Museum of Miniatures, Dolls and Toys Fall Dollhouse Miniature Show Public Sales Days September 9th & 10th. 03/30 - Little Golden Book - Heidi

Another kind of book that lends itself to being a miniature really nicely are the Little Golden Books. The pictures are colorful and clear, and they're just the right length to make a pretty great book.

This is a tiny reproduction of the Golden Book version of Heidi from 1954. I love it, and I hope you like it too!

02/30 - The ABC of Horses

I love how vintage books lend themselves so nicely to being miniature. I think they look great on a shelf, and I love the pictures. My mom loves horses, and some of my dolly friends do too, so this seemed like a "must make" title.

01/30 - Ghost Comics Issue #1

These are brand new to me. I never saw the original ones as a child, and I am entranced. They're amazing comics, and I think they are adorable (spooky) cuteness in tiny!

I would never have been able to bring this creation to life without the help of the rather spooky David Parr and the graphically gifted TC Tahoe. Thank you both so much!

For scale, the squares on my work mat are 1". I will have 11 different Ghost Comics available at the Wylde Kingdom Miniatures table on September 9th & 10!

Wylde Kingdom Miniatures

My tiny bookshelf looks like something out of a HGTV house show, with all the spines of the books facing in!

I don't mean to be secretive or anything. It's because tomorrow, my 30 day countdown to the Denver Museum of Miniatures, Dolls and Toys annual Fall Show begins!! Here and on Wylde Kingdom Miniatures too! I think this page is really just for paper things, printed things. The other is for -everything-!
