Some of you may already know, while others may not, that my husband Scott Sowa passed away at the end of January. He wasn't one who enjoyed sharing on social media, so I respected his privacy wish and took a step back to process.

I truly don’t have the words to express how hard this loss has been for myself and our families. Scott meant so much and losing him has left a large void in our hearts that will never fully be healed. He was someone who could always bring laughter and light into our lives, never hesitating to lend a hand or stand by those he loved and cared for.

He was my closest companion, my source of strength, and above all, my dearest friend and soulmate. His authenticity, silly humor, unwavering support and wisdom made every moment special. His love and guidance shaped me in profound ways, and I am forever grateful for the time we spent together. To honor him, I'll hold onto the simple joys he cherished: following passions, sharing moments with our beloved pets, and nurturing deep bonds with family and friends.

I want to thank everyone who's supported me, Scott's family, and mine. Your kindness and support mean so much. As Scott's birthday approaches, please keep us in your thoughts as we navigate this tough time without him. His page is now a place for memories, photos, and messages in his honor.

Taking a break from social media to prioritize self-care and begin to heal from a profound loss. No need to comment. I Appreciate your understanding during this time. Thank you.

In the midst of my everyday hustle, where thoughts tend to run like a never-ending stream, I've found a simple remedy in nature. As an introvert and empath, it's not always easy to quiet the constant chatter in my mind. That's why stepping out into the untouched beauty of nature has become a necessary break—a deliberate act to notice things I might overlook in the rush of daily life.

Within the canvas of my life, challenging moments surface and dissolve, much like strokes on a painting. In these moments, strength emerges—a hidden power found in overcoming obstacles. It's not about creating a perfect masterpiece but allowing the process to flow together while gently letting go of fear, judgement and frustration.

As I move through the canvas of life, I come to see: challenges aren't barriers but opportunities to pause and choose a different path or mindset. Even when we move on or paint over them, they create imprints into the layers. Yet, we don't have to give them the same significance that we did in the beginning. Each conscious brushstroke, releasing connections that no longer serve, allows us to reshape our story—making room for self-love and positive influences that nurture well-being. An ongoing journey of strength in art and life.

'The Strength Within'
A visual exploration of making connections between art, the human soul, and the essence of nature.

Today, I'm sharing a couple of pieces from a few months ago, capturing a moment when I was fully absorbed in the energy around me. The mix of intuitive stamp carving, art, and photography remains my go-to medium for expressing authentic emotions. Constantly evolving and growing with each new collection

If you're interested in the original artwork or a limited edition print of these, feel free to send me a direct message.

Going forward I will be taking a pause to retreat to the studio, my goal is to keep the flow of spontaneous creative expression going. I'll be diving into some new techniques, while also experimenting with blending them with the familiar. It's a subtle evolution, an ongoing chapter in my creative journey. If you're intrigued by this connection, stay tuned for updates coming soon.

Thanks as always for following.

My mission as an artist is to create intuitive art and photography that heals, celebrates the beauty of nature and the human spirit, empowers self-acceptance, and inspires a life of freedom.

I believe in doing more of what brings you joy. This message is so important to me that wrote it on a small intuitive art bookmark that I made. At one of my recent art shows, a woman approached me, and when she held the bookmark in her hand, tears welled up in her eyes. She told me that she knew exactly who she wanted to give it to.

These moments, where my art touches someone's heart in a deeply personal way, are what drive me as an artist. I find profound fulfillment in knowing that even the smallest item in my booth can carry such a powerful message. It reaffirms my commitment to creating authentic and meaningful art.

Rather than seeking the spotlight or pursuing fame, I look forward to more of these genuine connections and moments of impact through my art and photography. Thank you as always for being along side me on this artist journey of discovery.

If you find resonance with my art and would like to have a piece in your own space, I offer prints of my art and phonography work. It's a way to share the meaningful messages, visuals and emotions captured in my creations, if you so choose.

Six years ago, I said "I do" to one of my best friends, the person who truly knows me better than I know myself sometimes. We continue to grow together, and I'm grateful for his non judgmental acceptance of me. Our life together is filled with laughter, geeking out over our three cats, game nights, cooking dinner together, and the countless inside jokes that make every day a little brighter. He is also one of the biggest supporters in my artistic lifestyle. Thank you for being the best husband Scott. Love you so much.

I've been on a personal journey to explore the contrasts of light and dark in both my art and my life. It's about embracing the full spectrum of human experience, acknowledging the shadows within ourselves instead of feeling the need to constantly wear a mask and put on a happy facade, even when things aren't perfect.

Right now, I'm in a good place in my life, surrounded by genuine and supportive people who understand and appreciate this journey I'm on. I'm diving deeper into what some refer to as "shadow work," allowing myself to confront and understand these darker aspects from a more profound perspective than ever before. I won't deny that it's not always easy to put my thoughts out there, but I'm discovering that being more vulnerable feels better.

In one of my favorite art pieces, I conveyed the message, "I am free to be me." For me, this means embracing every facet of myself, including the darker and lighter parts, and accepting that they are all part of who I am.

The original art in this post has been sold, but I do offer prints, so feel free to reach out in a DM if you're interested or I will be selling my original art and prints at the College of DuPage Art and Craft show on November 3rd and 4th. More details soon.

I'd like to share a bit about why trees often find their way into my art, particularly in the collection I've titled "Intuitive Soulful Trees." For me, trees hold a special significance. When I take quiet walks in nature, using my camera almost like a meditative tool, I feel a profound connection to the world around me.

I use these images as a kind of collage in my work, and they become a symbol of strength, resilience, and the ability to overcome obstacles. Much like a tree in a spiritual sense, they embody not only physical endurance but also the deeper qualities of growth, transformation, and the unwavering spirit to get through life's challenges.

I'd like to extend a sincere thank you to the recent collector who purchased my artwork titled "Capable of Greatness." It means a lot to me when others find joy and inspiration in my work. Thank you for your support.

09/27/2023

My artwork explores various themes and techniques, but what ties them all together is my love for spontaneous creation. I thrive on the freedom to experiment without a fixed plan, and each piece reflects this unique approach. People who've seen my work in person sometimes say, "Your art is unlike anything I've seen before." That I feel is the best compliment. It's a genuine reflection of my spirit on canvas, making it one-of-a-kind. Thank you for your continued support on this journey of artistic freedom. This print will be unveiled at the College of DuPage art and craft show on November 4th and 5th. Mark your calendar now if you're interested in attending as it will be my last in person show of 2023.

I'd like to share my latest 12x12 Mixed Media piece on wood. My art often carries deeper meanings that I struggle to put into words. Occasionally, I find social media helps me provide a bit more insight into the emotions and ideas behind my work.

Now, about butterfly wisdom. It's all about respecting and being open to the valuable knowledge and blessings that our ancestors and departed loved ones can pass down to us. They hold the wisdom of our family lineage and can guide us in our present lives. Life keeps changing, and sometimes, we have to put our trust in the journey, even when we can't control it. Embracing the unknown with a sense of curiosity and wonder is key because every experience, no matter how challenging, can teach us vital lessons and bring us closer to discovering our true purpose.

I truly hope you enjoy the piece and that it resonates with you on a personal level. Art has a unique way of connecting with people, and I'm delighted to share this piece with you. If you have any thoughts or feelings about it, I'd love to hear them.

This artwork is titled "Capable of Greatness" and is part of my "Intuitive Soulful Tree" series. It's a 12x12-inch mixed media collage on wood panel. What makes it unique is that the tree featured in the artwork is a photograph I took myself.

Trees have always held deep meaning for me, and during times when I felt disconnected from my true self, I sought solace in nature. These walks among the trees were my sanctuary, a place where I could clear my mind and connect with the natural world.

"Capable of Greatness" is an intuitive mixed media collage, where the tree is a photograph I captured during one of those soul-soothing walks. It reflects the strength I found during those moments of solitude among the trees. Every element in the collage carries the essence of my deep connection with nature, and I hope it resonates with you as well.

As a reminder, Sunday will be my last day at the Downers Grove Art show, where you can see my work in person. I would be thrilled to meet you and share more about the inspiration behind my creations. If you're interested in experiencing the artwork up close and having a chat, I'd love to see you there.

I really appreciate everyone who took the time to visit my booth in Downers Grove today. I couldn't have asked for a better day. Looking forward to another day of creativity and connections tomorrow. :)

Bison wisdom reminds us that we are wild at heart, free to roam and explore the boundless possibilities of life. Embrace the passions that resonate within you, trusting your inner voice and disregarding external opinions that may limit your growth. Trust that you are always guided towards the highest good, and know that by staying true to yourself, you are fulfilling your true purpose in this world.

In this digital art collage, I've aimed to capture the essence of nature's powerful forces and the profound transformations we experience in life. Each element carries its own significance, weaving together a story of forward movement and personal growth.

Today and Tomorrow, I'll be at the Downers Grove art show 10am - 5pm, featuring a collection of both prints and original pieces from my artistic journey. It would be wonderful if you could drop by and say hello. :)

This 8x8inch mixed media piece is inspired by the larger 12x12 work, filled with emotion and energy.

Art, for me, is a way to express the unspoken. These soulful tree series have their own tale to tell, waiting for you to discover.

I hope it connects with your own experiences. Also, don't forget to join me tomorrow at the Downers Grove Art Show from 10 am to 5 pm. It's going to be a fun weekend!
