THROUGH THE YEARS: TOKIO, TEXAS ♾️ Polaroids by ✣ The codes of VADA’s second collection are woven throughout the piece: in the juxtaposition of feminine and masculine, of near and far, and of maximal decadence in close conversation with the natural world.

Directed, shot and styled by -The campaign features artist, dancer and musician and head trainer, handler and model alongside the Spanish show horses Mia works daily. Clothing was furnished in collaboration with ♾️ VADA eyewear and jewelry is worn throughout.

THROUGH THE YEARS: Collection II: TOKIO, TEXAS inspiration ♾️ Convening at the corner of Watanabe’s disco punks and vintage rhinestone cowboys, where watercolor skies meet dusty desert terrain, Collection II derived its name from an actual place: Tokio, Texas, a ghost town in the far western reaches of the state.

It is in this spirit that VADA Eyes was formed — of juxtaposition, geometry and jazz. Of feminine and masculine, of artist and object. Of reverence and rebellion.

THROUGH THE YEARS- TOKIO, TEXAS: Our second eyewear collection with its TRICK PONY campaign, in celebration of hybrids, harmonies and high-wire acts. Opulent and optimistic, TRICK PONY presented the TOKIO, TEXAS eyewear collection from the center of the ring — a spectacle of spectacles. 🎡🎪🎟️🐎

VADA THROUGH THE YEARS: Our inspiration behind our first eyewear frame, the Siren: the story of Odyssey’s turbulent passage across ancient seas in homage to our own maiden voyage; the brazen aesthetics of both mythological and modern-day sirens, like the heavy, angular shapes of Siouxsie Sioux’s iconic eye make up; and vintage mod, acetate frames with sculptural frame front detailing 🏺♾️

VADA THROUGH THE YEARS: Remembering our main voyage: SIREN, continually our top selling and COPIED style to this day ♾️ Produced in 2020 and handcrafted in Japan by a small family factory near the ocean. SIREN was launched in five color-ways, paving our way into the beautiful world of eyewear.

The Siren collection is inspired by their namesake and are hybrids themselves: Each pair features gemstone-inspired frames, gold-tone adornments, and rivets designed to hold Vada’s gold chain retainers, making Vada Eyes eyewear and jewelry at once. Can you hear the Sirens’ call?
