Months of work coming to completion with this major sound and video studio upgrade. I got a butcher block top, sanded and stained it myself and replaced my standing desk top with it. Shuffled lots of gear, got new stands, mounts, and software. Added one new bread and butter synth and my first real quality analog synthesizer. What an amazing introduction into processing hunted animals! We are getting to know our next door neighbors. The dad and son, who is Koru’s new friend, are both avid hunters. The dad is a wildlife biologist and works with state agencies to promote hunting to help with the agency’s income. They had a huge backlog of animals to process after their big move from south Texas. I went next door to pick up Koru from his overnight and found these mountains of meat and one overwhelmed dad. We decided to stay. Steohanie came with some cutting boards and knives. For the rest of the day, many hours, we stayed and worked processing and packing meat. It felt so good to be contributing to community and be a part of an assembly line with my family and another family. We had various stations and roles throughout the day. Meat cutters, grinders, vax seal bag makers, labelers, vacuum sealer, and clean up crew! (You see one of the crew licking the floor at the end. 😂 It was fun and we learned so much! We will be getting a nice amount of meat as a thank you for our efforts. Then we ended the day with some delicious sausages made fresh from the meat our boys ground up. What a blessing!
My Weekend with Robert F. Kennedy, Jr: What an incredible time to get to be in person with our next president. I was able to attend 2 amazing events. Koru came to the second one with me and really enjoyed it. It was a milestone moment to have my son leaning into me in the hot sun, listening to RFK Jr. talk and clapping to what he had to say. I even got a question in each day!! The second day’s question was so intense, as I felt his passion of the answer directed right at me as he looked into my eyes while he answered. There was nothing scripted the whole weekend... just hours of brilliant discourse. I never would have thought in my lifetime that an actual caring, conscious person would be running to lead our country. There is nobody else who comes close to being able to #healthedivide that has become a huge chasm of polarity swallowing up this country. We are in our 11th hour as a country and as a planet. As humans, we have become incredibly divisive and self-destructive. This man has been a warrior for goodness for 40 years. He’s continually fought and won against government and corporate corruption. He’s not perfect. He admits his faults and has a colorful past. We readily shares about his struggles with addiction and his grief from so much loss in his family. He has a regular meditation practice, is sober, (though sees a place for plant medicine and even told the story of his son’s healing from his mom’s suicide with ayahuasca), and he really listens to regular people. He has experienced the struggles and cares about ours. This is the type of person who I want leading our country. This is the type of person who can make us a respectable world leader again. Someone who will take us out of the war economy into producing things of value once again. He will help us become a way-shower for true democracy again. What we have now needs to be stricken down with the sword of truth and justice, and he’s the courageous, balls-of-steel, loving man to do
