FALL IS HERE! 🍁Are you chasing comfort or true fulfillment? 🌟
Many of us chase comfort through material possessions, thinking they’ll bring happiness, only to find ourselves feeling burnt out and unfulfilled.
Here are some key takeaways to think about when reflecting on this quote…
🎃 Value Simplicity Over Luxury: True contentment comes from being authentic, not from trying to meet societal expectations.
🌱 Prioritize Personal Freedom: Finding joy in solitude and self-sufficiency allows us to make choices that align with our values.
💖 Choosing What Matters: Prioritize your values and relationships over superficial comforts—what really brings you joy?
🔍 Pushback on Societal Norms: Challenge the pressures of materialism. Seek fulfillment in experiences and connections that enrich your life.
Let’s embrace the beauty of simplicity and take control of our financial journeys! 🌟

🤓 THE TRUTH ABOUT MANAGING YOUR MONEY....
Whenever I’m coaching someone (or myself) through learning something new, I always reference this ONE model—it’s called the Conscious Competence Model by Noel Burch.
Learning how to manage your money isn’t about just crunching numbers or tracking stock prices. It’s much more about building a new set of skills, tactics, and mindsets.
But no one really teaches us what skills are important for managing money, right? How would you know?
I definitely didn’t know.
Early in my career, I made some… let’s say, interesting financial decisions, simply because I had NO idea what I was doing. That’s what they call unconscious incompetence—you don’t know what you don’t know.
Then I got my first job after grad school, started earning good money, and realized I probably needed some help managing it. But I didn’t know what to do or where to start. That’s conscious incompetence—you know you’re missing something, but you’re not sure what.
I began researching how to invest, created a budget, and took action. But every month, updating my budget and tracking progress felt like a chore. That’s conscious competence—you’ve got the skills, but they take effort.
Eventually, though, things started to click. I knew how much I was making, what my expenses were, and how much I could contribute to savings and retirement. I set up automatic contributions, and managing my money became more natural. That’s unconscious competence—where it starts to feel second nature.
Of course, I’m not saying I’ve mastered every area of money management, but I’ve made progress. That’s the key: it’s a journey.
You’ll have good days and bad days. Days where you feel on top of things and days where you’re just confused. But that’s all part of the learning process.
Understanding which stage you’re in with each money skill or mindset can make a world of difference. It helps you stay on track, keep learning, and, most importantly, keep moving forward.
Learning is hard work—that’s why most people stop once school is over. But if you want a healthy, vibrant, and financially successful life, the learning doesn’t stop.

We’re a day late with our Money Monday inspiration, but we’re here now!
Today we want to talk about the benefits of stopping to smell the metaphorical roses. 🌹🌹🌹
Last week, we made the 12-hour drive to North Carolina for this next “interim” season of our lives. Usually, we do the full 12-hour drive all in one day, but this time we decided to stop in Jacksonville to see Gabe’s uncle, whom Gabe had never met in person.
We had been meaning to do this for the past two years but never quite made the commitment because it’s cheaper to drive straight through than to book a hotel for a couple of nights.
But this time, we decided to make the stop, and it was worth every extra penny. We picked him up from his house, headed east toward the beach with our pup 🐶 (whom Uncle Sam really enjoyed!), and had a wonderful adventure and beachfront lunch.
As we chatted with him, we learned some of his favorite activities were walking around the local mall, eating dinner at Cracker Barrel, and mowing his new front lawn.
This reminded us that abundance in life is what you make of it.
It makes me wonder how much of our lives we miss out on because we’re worried about money.
The more I talk to clients, the more I realize it’s LESS about knowing exactly what stock to invest in and MORE about having a financial plan that sets you at ease enough to enjoy your life now and feel confident in your financial future.
Take control of your money by taking control of your emotions.

Being rich and being wealthy are two different things.
A lot of times we idolize people who have “symbols” of wealth, whether it be a new luxury car, big mansion or expensive clothes... but often times true wealth is unseen. It’s a fully funded emergency fund. It’s a brokerage account where you are consistently investing your money. It’s peace of mind and a level of independence that others don’t have.
Shifting from a mindset to a mindset makes all the difference when growing .
