Hey . Cornerstone Design and Remodel is going to be hosting our first DIY Construction Workshop in a few weeks!

Our first class, your instructor Alex Buck will be teaching you how to perform your own drywall patch & paint! While we wish we could put on these classes for free, we are able to offer them for the low cost of $65 per student. This includes a 1.5-2 hour class on how to remove, patch, prep & paint a drywall patch. $65 might seem like a lot in this economy, but let me explain that hiring out drywall patches can cost you anywhere from $250 to $850! You ALSO get to take home the tools and knowledge you need to perform your own patches at home! (Yes, your own set of tools are included and they're yours to keep!)

We are teaming up with B and M Cabinetry Plus and hosting our classes at their gallery/studio, conveniently located at 1609 Belair Road, Unit 3, Fallston, MD 21047.

“We lost 6 tradesmen today. The tragedy that happened in my town this morning made national headlines - a 100k ton container ship leaving the Port of Baltimore collided with a the Francis Scott Key Bridge, and it inevitably collapsed. One whole minute before the ship made impact, they made their mayday call, and bridge operators closed the bridge. Unfortunately, among a construction crew doing road work, there were other drivers that hadn’t yet made it across the bridge when it collapsed. There were 6 people still unaccounted for, and those 6 people, tradesmen, are now presumed dead.

The bridge just celebrated its 47th birthday. My granddaddy, a career tradesmen, ran the electric on that bridge.

Safe to say today was hard. I felt emotions I hadn’t felt in awhile, because of this bridge collapse. My heart is heavy today.

Please pray for these souls, and the families they are leaving behind.

Go to work tomorrow with a merry heart, a watchful eye, and give all thanks and glory to God everyday.”

Heartbreaking update: Six construction workers are presumed dead following the collapse of Baltimore’s Francis Scott Key Bridge early Tuesday.

Coast guard officials said around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, nearly 18 hours after the bridge collapsed, that six people are still unaccounted for. Those people are presumed dead, authorities say, and a search and rescue mission is now a recovery mission. https://on.wbaltv.com/3PDMdPc

Sunroom is complete!

As with all of our builds, remodels and renovations, we offer a complementary cleaning at the end of our work!

So this sunroom addition was clean professionally Sunday and as you can see, our clients couldn’t wait to make use of their new space and already started bringing in furniture! (I’ll take that as a compliment!)

What do you like most about this build?
For me personally, there’s so many things.
The simple lighting layout,
The wall color and how it compliments the grays of the floor and ceiling
The beaded tongue and groove ceiling!
The new skylights, angled to allow in more light
All. The. Natural. Light.

Annnnd it’s complete! Check out the amazing before and after on this sunroom we transformed in Fallston! We made the most out what used to be a car port.

The green perfectly compliments the brick, which perfectly compliments the grays and tans of the floor and the hardwood tongue and groove ceiling!

We added 5 6” recessed lights and even were able to add a low profile ceiling fan for some airflow.

My favorite part, however, are the two new skylights. We framed the ceiling in a way for the new skylights to provide so much more natural light to the area.

To finish it off, the homeowner added a new mini-split HVAC unit to make this new room a timeless, fully functioning, heated and cooled, super cozy living area that they’ll be able to enjoy for decades to come!

1 year of filtering tap water turned this pure white filter to the color of rust. It filters only what we drink out of a separate faucet. So, in a year, your body is filtering the same amount. Pretty gross, huh?

As always, use a filter for your drinking water. We use a 6 stage reverse osmosis filter that mounts under the sink.

We can install it for you if you need it.
