By doing this exercise you get rid of this old stale air💨in your lungs and allow space to be created for fresh air and more oxygen to enter the👃🏽, go down into the lungs via the bronchial tree, pass through the alveoli, entering the bloodstream and replenishing & rejuvenating every single part of the body🧬. this exercise is not only for smokers, but for EVERYONE and anyone who wants to strengthen and improve their respiratory system. Kapalbhati Pranayama Breathwork Exercise:
1. Do physical stretches that
target your abdominal sides, lower back,
upper back, and neck (all sides).
2. Make sure you have on loose, fitting
clothing
3. Find a comfortable and peaceful
environment. use a yoga mat, chair, or
pillow to get comfortable. Sit up against
a wall to support your back if needed.
b.) Straighen your spine and take a deep
inhalation in through your nose. And
then proceeded to exhale with quick
puffs of air through your nose from your
diaphragm.
4. Take 30 breaths for the first round.
5. Take 60 breaths for the second round.
6. Take 100 breaths for the third round.
7. When rounds are complete return to a relaxed position and take 10 more slow and deep inhalations and exhalations through your nose.
Note: Number of breaths per round can be adjusted as needed. (Ex. Round 1- 20 breaths, Round 2- 40 breaths, Round 3- 60 breaths.)
It’s important to practice these breathing techniques to YOUR comfort level. While challenging yourself, make sure you’re not exceeding your physical capabilities or causing unwarranted stress on the body and pulmonary system.
