Handmade Home Decor
So I didn't get to the gnomes yet, as Mom had other plans....a week in the hospital and layed up after some foot surgery, so I've not spent as much time in the craft room. I did, however, have the chance to create a nice little basket set. I'm going to add some little leather handles, but I love how they look and the possibilities are endless. Tell me what ya think! They are about 4-6" wide, 2-4" deep and and soft and flexible. Maybe I should try a square basket????
Happy Spring and almost Summer and welcome to my new followers!!! I haven't posted much as outside gardens and flowers have consumed alot of my time. I unfortunately had some unwelcomed rummy issues that put me inside for a few days.....and what does a crafter do when that happens?.....craft! I decided to crochet a few things since it allowed me to stay pretty stationary.... Anyway thought I would have a go at some sunflowers....a coaster and a little sunflower Un a jug decor did the trick! Let me know what you think. Getting the urge to do a Gnome or two! I owe somebody a 4th of July gnome!!!!
So the craft fair went well. Hopefully it will be busier next year. So what does a crafter do when she has some down time.....craft of course!!!! I've had so many stolen moments of crafting here and there this last year with all the chaos....it's been really nice to have time to focus on my crafting. Of course I have to push my crochet skills.....after 40 some years of trying to learn, I love trying all these new things now! And I absolutely have some gnomes on the list too....I have the privilege of going to Disney with the CNE Marching Rockets in a few weeks and lots of gardening to catch up on this summer.....but I look forward to losts of crafting for a few craft shows this fall!!! Thank you to all who follow and welcome to those new followers. I will post a follow up pic of what ends up in the pot, pictured below!!!!!

Since Hoggle the Hiker embarked on an adventure to Minnesota, his cousin Baggins Kilroy is excited to step in for our craft fair. Baggins has a taste for adventure! He's always ready to explore and experience new places! He has a love of exploration and secretly carves his name is places he's been! You'll find Baggins at the CNE Craft Fair April 6th......
Ok, so I uploaded a temporary new photo for Workbench Creations. The last one has been my pic since I started Workbench Creations now 4 years ago!! I no longer have many of the items in that pic and I've added some new crafty skills to my tool box, so I felt it was time for an update. It's not quite what I'm wanting, so I did a temporary update until I can get a better pic with alot more of my crafts. I'm thinking about a picture from the craft fair set up this spring! But until then, many of my items are packed and I'm a busy bee with play costumes, scheduling our craft fair vendors, making my crafts for my booth, mom is getting ready for cataract procedures so lots of Dr. Appts there, and readying for the Band Disney trip this spring!!! Lots of good things happening this year!

So he took a little longer to finish, but I took a little more time creating him a cool walking stick for all those awesome hikes! What started out as some cute little shoes in a store for a baby, turned into this little guy who ready to put some miles on those shoes!!!! From the bottom of his new hiking boots to the end of his gnome hat, he is 24". As any good hiker would-, he has his back pack, a radio, sun glasses and his handy dandy map to guide him on all his adventures, a pair of binoculars to see what's ahead, and of course a little feathered friend to keep him company.
$60.
And we can't forget about this little cutie! The sunshine sprouted this little guy too! All he needed was a patchwork pot of love to spread those cute little pink crocheted petals out This little one stands a little over 7inches tall.
$12.00
So yesterday as the sun was shining in my craftroom, what better to be created than this lovely little crocheted flower!!! She has a ruffley furl of purple petals and a forever smile thats sure to warm your heart. She's a little over 8 inches tall and would love to brighten your desk or shelf!
$15.00
So I had to run some errands, and if course I'm am always looking for inspiration for my craft projects and while at a store these absolutely adorable little boots jumped out at me and screamed Gnome!!! Now I normally make my own shoes for my Gnomes(I have a process that works very well for me), however these practically did a danced and begged to go on a hiker Gnomes feet. I had the back pack in my Gnome supplies I had picked up a while ago for such a Gnome. So with the two pieces a hiker gnome it will be!!! Stay tuned to see the final product!!!
What an absolute perfect day to be crafting!!! The sun is shining( however, its still winter and cold), the birds are singing, and I'm sitting here painting a couple of patchwork pots for my happy flowers! So looking forward to spring, the craft fair, and of course, more crafting. Check back for the end result of putting my happy flower in his patchwork pot forever home.....
I think its time for a new cover page for Workbench Creations! I haven't updated since 2021 when I started Workbench Creations!!! Keep an eye out for the new update.....
It wouldn't be spring without a Gardner gnome readying his plants for warmer weather!!!

Sooo I sort of got the crochet bug and when I seen these little mugs......well let's just say now I have a few!
I haven't made a Gnome in a while with everything I've had going on and then a customer requested a Leprachaun. I enjoyed making the little guy and quickly remembered why I started making them.....so much fun to give them personality! This little guy is on his way to Tennessee to watch over a family and bring them some luck with his pot of gold and clovers!

So while I know Christmas is over, getting a jump on the year, is always a bonus. Here is some of the crafts you'll be seeing this year at some of the craft fairs I'll be attending.
Happy New Year!!! Last year was a year of reorganizing, adapting to new environments, bringing the old to the new and settling in. I sadly had to pull my crafts out of the shop simple because they were affected by covid and chose to close the shop down. I also had to move, so priorities shifted to getting things back on track. The craft fair I went to in the fall was successful and has put me back on the crafting track. I am excited to share that I will not only be doing more craft fairs this year, but I have also had the honor to be involved in organizing and planning to host a craft fair for our school Marching band for our Band Boosters this spring. More to come on the craft fair this spring. So I've been working on some crafts for the spring, but also some crafts for the fall craft fairs as well. Lots of craft items will begin being posted. All items will be for available and for sale. Here's to an exciting and Happy New Year for 2023.
Today's craft fair at Batavia Elementary went well. Thank you to many of my current and new followers for stopping at my space there. We have secured a spot to come back next year. Time to get busy creating more and new crafts. Stay tuned for more......

I have been wanting to put the Topsy turvey stacking pots in the garden and it popped in my head, could I do it with my material flowersand small pots.....of couse!! The large flowers are crocheted, material and ribbon. Can be made in soooo may colors too.
Sorry for not posting anything for a bit. I've been working hard, inside and out on fixing up moms house.
