What to expect from different levels of wind speeds.

10-19 mph
- Every day winds (Situation normal)
- Little to no damage.
- Light breezes may cause some movement of small branches and leaves.

20-29 mph
- Light damage.
- Small branches and twigs may break.
- Some loose objects may be blown around.

30-39 mph
- Moderate damage.
- Larger branches may break.
- Unsecured outdoor objects can be moved or damaged.

40-49 mph
- Significant damage.
- Trees may lose large branches.
- Small to medium-sized outdoor structures may be damaged or moved.

50-59 mph
- Noticeable damage.
- Large branches may be broken off trees.
- Roofs may have minor damage.
- Unsecured structures may be damaged.

60-69 mph
- Considerable damage.
- Trees may be uprooted or have substantial branch loss.
- Significant damage to roofs and siding.
- Power outages may occur.

70-75 mph (75 mph+ is Category 1 Hurricane)
- Severe damage.
- Major damage to trees with possible uprooting.
- Significant damage to buildings, especially roofs and siding.
- High likelihood of power outages and some structural damage.

Category 1 hurricanes (75 mph - 95 mph) can cause minimal damage to building structures like roof shingles, vinyl siding, and gutters. The wind is strong enough to break tree branches and uproot young trees with shallow roots. Damage to power infrastructure can cause outages for several days.

Category 2 hurricanes (96 mph - 110 mph) can cause significant damage to homes and buildings. Roofs, doors, and windows can require complete replacement. Winds will pick up loose objects outdoors and turn them into dangerous projectiles. Power outages can last several days or even longer.
