Sheriff Sid Gautreaux and the EBRSO Armed Robbery and Burglary Division want to warn you of a type of vehicle burglary referred to as "Sliders." This type of burglary involves a vehicle pulling up next to your vehicle on the opposite side. An occupant from that vehicle opens your door and snatches purses, wallets, cell phones, and in some cases, they will steal your car if the keys are still in it.
In the case the Sheriff’s Office is investigating that occurred on Seigen Lane, an unknown driver of another vehicle distracted the victim. “Sliders” prey on unsuspecting residents and unlocked vehicles at gas stations. To combat this issue, please lock your doors and close your windows.
If you have been the victim of a burglary, or witnessed suspicious activity, call the Sheriff’s Office at 389-5000.

🚨EBRSO LOOKING FOR ARMED BURGLARS🚨 On the early morning of May 24th, 2021, unidentified subjects are seen attempting to burglarize vehicles by pulling on car door handles in the 1600 block of Pecan Crossing (Zachary, LA). The surveillance video also shows one of the subjects carrying what appears to be a firearm. Anyone who knows the identities of these subjects is urged to contact the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office Armed Robbery and Burglary Division at 225-389-5064 or Crime Stoppers at 225-344-(STOP).
