Have you ever wondered where April Fools came from?

Some historians believe that it dates back to 1582. That is when France switched from the Julian calendar to the Gregorian calendar. People who were slow to get the news or failed to recognize that the start of the year was January 1 and continued to celebrate it the last week of March through April 1 were considered "fools." They became the butt of jokes and hoaxes.

They were referred to as poisson d’avril (April fish) because they symbolized a young, “easily hooked” fish and a gullible person.
