Finished my whole blood donation at Molly’s school so it back in the van blasting Dropkick Murphys and on with the day…feeling the spirit of this sham-rock’in holiday!

February Vacation cross country ski FAIL. 🎿

3+ years of waiting for the right time, the right conditions, and someone to ski with…only for my boots to most likely NOT fit my bindings!!

We even took boots off and tried to get them to fit but no go…maybe next year 😂

Thursday date night volunteering at serving up dinner and tucking them in for the night!

As a kid, I wanted to be a farmer when I grew up. That might not have happened but this is a pretty good farming fix for now!

It’s been a fun 4ish years of lightening and playing with my hair but enough is enough.

Dancing the line of healthy and long has finally won and I’m back to the dark side of life, my natural root color!!

It might have been a 2 day in the making cake but tonight Doug enjoyed his homemade GF chocolate cake with chocolate frosting! 🍫

And because someone has been concerned with his magnesium intake, I made the frosting with cacao instead of traditional cocoa powder!

While the reason I used cacao is a fib…I used the cacao because I’m trying to get my many ingredient cupboard cleaned up this year…the super food nature of cacao was just a bonus!

Cheers to 51!!

50 it was a surprise party, friends, family, axe throwing, and a hibachi dinner.

51 is a nap on the couch after work, while I’m at parent teacher conferences, then Drivers Ed taxiing the girlie before a homemade family dinner at 9 pm with a home made gluten free cake that will be frosted tomorrow.

Things might look a little different this year but you are loved and appreciated even more than the year before.

There is a time in your life when you realize that someone entered your life and changed it for the better.

Rocky, our forever 3 year old, life is twice as interesting and has 10 times the amount of love and snuggles because you are in it!

PS Thanks for reminding me it’s bedtime! Got lost in trying to catch up on things now that the power is back on!

Yes, we could have stayed in bed a little longer, enjoyed a nice Sunday breakfast, and attended church BUT when winter fun comes knocking, we’re out the door by 6:30…AM!

So much fun skiing with Maddie and her friend’s family!! ⛷️ The weather was unbelievable, the number of lifts in operation made for short lines, and we had some great company!

Though dropping 5 pounds this week is a nice perk to recommitting to a consistent healthy lifestyle, being strong enough to shred the slopes and enjoy the burning quads is even more important!

Let’s see who’s sore tomorrow…

I’m so thankful to have another day as her taxi driver and ATM because it won’t be long that she’ll be the one driving off…without us!! 😢

A very happy 16th birthday to my darling Grace, who has a heart full of just that, grace 💗

Watching you beam with delight with the smallest of things that warm your heart is one or the most amazing things to see. The joy, wonder, appreciation, and kindness just radiates out of you…I couldn’t be prouder of the energy you put out to the world in those moments.

Though I did a bunch of workouts last year, I did NOT go for 1 single run…not since 2021!! Or at least none that I recorded…🤷🏻‍♀️

When it’s in the 40s with no real plans, it only made sense lace up and breathe in the fresh VT air. 🏃🏻‍♀️

2 miles✌️of interval running averaging a 13 minute mile seems like a pretty good starting point!!

PS - If you are getting a little overwhelmed with the holiday season, I want to highly recommend even a 15 minute SWEAT to get this endorphins going!!

Feeling a lot more of that Christmas spirit today!!

My daughters keep asking why I’m making soup AGAIN. 🤔

Aside from correcting them that this time is it STEW, the answer for the next 3 months is that it is WINTER! ❄️

PS - Aside from this being a stew, this was also a lesson in what dumplings are as well!

Today was Grace’s official start at Dunkin Donuts when not in school or engaged in horseback commitments. 🥳

Not only is this first special but it’s even more special that she gets to work at the same location with her sister, Molly!! 👯‍♀️

These girlies make me so proud to be their mom! I love you both so much!!

The vacation when everyone who wanted to catch a fish, caught one! 🐠 Right in the canal behind our friends’ house too…

We caught (& released) mangrove snappers, yellowtail Jack, grunt, perch, and something else that we couldn’t identify.

I have to say that Madison is the most enthusiastic fisherman in our bunch, aside for her sidekick 🎣

Connecting your kids with animals and experiences is magical!

I’m so glad we made a point to bring the teens here so they could feel the magic of being in awe of nature. It really transforms them back to being little girls again!
