It’s a great time to remember that contraception is a core component of reproductive autonomy and should be available to anyone who needs it—including trans and nonbinary folks, young people and those living with low incomes.

We know that people use birth control for many reasons, including to avoid pregnancy, have healthier pregnancies or help time and space births, and more. That’s why everyone deserves access to the full range of high-quality, affordable birth control methods that work best for them.

We’re also excited for the first over-the-counter birth control pill will be available in the US early next year! This could significantly increase contraceptive access for many people.

But our work to protect access is far from over.

🚨 The same legal arguments used to overturn Roe also threaten the right to birth control. With the health and rights of many people at risk, we can’t take anything for granted. The fight to ensure reproductive freedom for all must continue!

Item E: appears to be mostly redundant as these things are in other HCPS policies. I'd pay attention to the language and think critically about what the purpose of this is and who it helps and who it hurts and WHY the board president would be proposing this if most of it already exists. I would especially share this with our educators and get their feedback.

I am very wary of this and I encourage you be critical as well.

Each Board meeting is available the next day for viewing in case you miss it.

If you can't make it this evening, you have until noon to register to call in and you can always email or call your BoE members to let them know how you feel.

As always, I am forever grateful to those that show up, speak out, write in and all other forms of advocacy.
