This shot is an in-camera double exposure—a delightful play amidst the fireweed and jumps. It's fascinating to plan and create images that unveil a new reality, capturing something unseen by the naked eye, without relying on Photoshop tinkering. Working with double exposures calls for thoughtful consideration of light, darkness, and density.
I couldn't help but feel pleased with how the fireweed gracefully overlaid the silhouette of a rider examining their line.
🌄🌿🌺
Laughter echoing through the trails, witnessing the camaraderie and unwavering support, and experiencing the sheer joy of having an incredible time. There's nothing quite like capturing those genuine moments of interaction and pure hilarity.

Last week, I got out for a bit of soul shooting. It was wonderful to join local athlete , who has been organizing casual jump nights for women, q***r, and non-binary individuals at the nearby cedar dust jumps. I pulled out my old 105mm manual focus macro lens i purchase way back in highschool, and did some playing with angles and light amongst the fireweed and thimbleberries. I’m definitely in my heart's happy places when I find myself pointing my lens at great subject matter during sunset.

100% can fix her own bike issues. I’ll just take a pic while she inspects s**t. 😏
This shot won second place in the Shoot the Trails awards supporting our local Mtn bike trail organization the . Bellingham has such an amazing community of outdoor women, Kayla is no exception. This shot is also capturing her first time riding this feature, a classic on the Galbrath trails. I love how the mist gives the image depth and I was really happy to find this branch to frame and compliment the trail feature. THanks so much for advocating and creating such great community and recreation out the back door. Our trail access is such a joy and makes every day home something special. Rider
Time in the woods with girlfriends on bikes has been the best way to end summer. This shot is from the winter but I've been riding the bike a lot lately exploring new places, solidifying friendships, getting my ass whooped, getting a little to each. It keeps me excited and joyful, while i might not become the most skilled i’ve got a big smile.
A few musings felt on the water. Been feeling the flow of life lately. curious at where it will go and how it will play out. I am feeling so much right now that one can see a door closing but at the same time there is a window opening somewhere else if I care to look and find it. I feel so fortunate for the people I’m my life the opportunities that I have, have had, and everything that has shaped me up to now, this moment, this day. This view is also a choice, I could point at this or that and if I decided to look at it differently I could be pi**ed off but I find I naturally don’t do that usually. When I look for the windows in a situation, more windows and doors open, in seeing windows they become doors, if I focus on what is closed I miss what is open, and often close more doors. I don’t talk about this mindset that much, but lately I have been saying yes to unexpected things and making doors and windows out of tiny little p*ep holes, I don’t try to force it, it just is my default way of approaching life, I think it always has been. Not sure exactly where I learned it, it wasn’t exactly demonstrated or taught to me, my mom is pretty good at it I think, my dad not so much maybe the balance of seeing both paths has lead me this way. It’s ok and good to feel pain and sadness and some experiences are really hard to see windows or even little p*ep holes out of but in my experience there is one hiding if you have a mind to look for it. And sometimes there are emeralds in their wake.
I find when I frantically run off towards something with great excitement good things usually happen. This evening the wind had been up all day untill the evening light started to shine. I last minute decided it would be a good idea to go take some underwater housing shots, I ran from the beach to my car and threw my camera into my housing which is not a very fast process. I probably looked like a crazy Laidy, madly struggling into her wetsuit, dashing about with 20+ lbs of camera gear trying to test its seals and locks before I ran to the waves. Me excitedly hooting at my friend Charla to get into the water before we lost the light.
Bobbing in the now glassy waves as the last rays of light reflected on the water I was filled with joy. Filled with a luminous gratitude for my work. Filled with a playful sense of creativity and connectedness. I love surfing because it makes me feel like I am one with the water, a little bobbing seal waiting to dance with the waves. Surf photography i love because I get to try and capture a small piece of that joy and share it with others.
Ok last one from some fun capturing surf casting.
You are going to have to click on my profile to see this shot how it is supposed to be seen.
Getting a little Arty in the water ☺️ fun until I realized I had not tightened down my water port enough. Camera safe but port had to dry out for days. Suffice to say I did not get to shoot as much water stuff as I was hoping.
Here is another angle of the running on rocks shot. Do you like the backside or the front side? Short for
in mailboxes now.
Sunrise and sun stars two of my favorite things. :) oh yeah and is the embodiment of a strong, kind, fun and fearless. Short for
in mailboxes now I think 🙃
New Title Nine catalog is out so I finally get to share some images from our Montana shoot. Thanks to a great team for making it happen under difficult weather conditions. Oh the things nobody knows about in the final photos :)

The wind was a little to light but the sun was bright and playing in the water always brings smiles. I love collaborating with friends and I’m a little scared I’m going to want to learning kiteboarding 😬 thanks for the inspiration!

I wrote a few things to consider while trying to keep sane during social distancing: I feel like i am seeing a lot of people not thinking about some of these things, especially where you P**p and P*e while out. Here are some thoughts from my corner of Washington state.
To all of my friends that get rad, let’s get semi rad instead, or just kinda boring.
1) Please consider not leaving your city/state. Keep your germs in your local area. Please don’t drive from Seattle to go mountain biking in Bellingham right now, or from Bellingham to Bend to go rock climbing/biking. Please stay in your backyard area. If you must go somewhere else, bring all your own food and don’t use public bathrooms.
2) Please do not carpool with friends. I am big into carpooling but keep your germs to yourself. If you’re going to play with friends, get there separately.
4) Consider adventuring closer to home to reduce car usage and gas. Touching gas pumps and credit card readers spreads germs. By traveling long or even moderate distances in your car you are increasing the number of these interactions you will have to complete.
3) Please do not rock climb. Should I explain that you are touching rocks that a lot of other people are also touching?
4) Please ride your bike like you’re an old lady with brittle bones. Get that uphill exercise, and ride downhill like a grandma with a fear of wind. I do this anyway and am considering not riding my mountain bike at all. I am still trying to decide whether I feel confident in my granny riding enough to risk a freak accident and making the lives of my nurse and firefighter friends harder.
5) Please don’t pet that cute dog who is wiggling at your legs.
6) Please don’t let other people pet your cute wiggling dog
7) Please don’t use public restrooms. If you are going on an outdoor adventure and you have to p*e/poop, p*e in the woods. PACK OUT YOUR TP! BLUE-BAG YOUR DOODOO! (Haha, writing that sentence made me happy J)
😎 Blue bag it. If you’re going to go surfing/skiing/hiking, s**t in a bag and put it tied up in the garbage. DO NOT LEAVE YOUR P**P LYING AROUND ON THE GROUND. THINK ABOUT THIS BEFORE YOU GO.
9) If you choose to go skiing/snowboard, surfing, rock climbing, biking, etc., please consider running through a mental pre-mortem check and actually take the time to write out a “DO NOT RESCUE ME” note to leave on your car. If we need to go play to stay sane, then we need to take responsibility for our own lives and not risk the lives of others.
THINGS TO CONSIDER DOING INSTEAD:
10) Take up running. No, I am not the biggest runner, but running has been saving my mental state this week. Running seems to me to be the safest outdoor exercise I can think of doing and you can do it right out your door.
11) Get into gardening. W**d some weeds.
12) Take up knitting. It is relaxing, fun and you can make all the Christmas presents for next year—hot pads, socks, etc. depending on your skill level.
13) Learn cool things online. Universities are offering free college courses on rad stuff from places like Harvard and Yale.
14) Hone your cooking skills. Bake bread, cook beans 54 different ways.
15) Above all, be kind and compassionate in your interactions with people online. If you feel they are doing something unsafe, let’s try to nicely ask them to think about their actions. If you have the ability to play outside right now you are pretty privileged, but our actions mater and WE ARE IN THIS TOGETHER.
Peace and Love
