Mary Jo Maute
Painter and printmaker based in Bellingham, Washington.
My good friend of many years, Renee Sherrer has my made in Montana painting "Roots of Rhythm" hanging for sale at her shop/studio Social Fabric It's a fitting location since there's some fabric collage involved and Renee and our friendship goes back to 1983. She came to our Halloween party in a dress made entirely from zippers!
I have some Vintage Maute's from the 80s when we lived in Montana. We're having some work done where they are stored. Some friends suggested I sell them. What a concept! Normally my painting of this size sell for $3,000 but I really want them to find homes, so selling for $1,000 plus shipping. Let me know if you're interested.

Couple and Still Life Reflected in a Mirror" acrylic on bookbinding board. I know it's a strange painting but it was fun to puzzle though it. I liked letting the board show though as shapes in some areas.

I've often been called Saint Mary Jo. It was fun to be a Saint in one of Francis Donovan's paintings. He's a prolific artist who expresses himself freely and engages with people of all ages.

"The Ghost of a Whale" looks pretty nice in this virtual setting. And now I know what type of frame it needs. Acrylic on bookbinding board, 15 x 21.

It's fun to see what kind of interior would be best for a painting that's on the wild side. "Where the Bee Sucks" looks great in this cool contemporary space. It's showing at the Cordata Gallery now in a Woman Painters of Washington show.
See the location link for hours.
Meeting in a Field, oil on paper, 20 x 16. Revisited this painting to simplify and boost the contrast.
