It was a busy weekend in the kitchen. I love a new challenge. I was asked to make some coffee flavored cupcakes so I experimented with a couple recipes. The first one is a coffee cupcake with a soak of coffee and khalua and a coffee flavored buttercream. The second one (with one coffee bean) is a cafe mocha cupcake with salted caramel frosting. I was pleased with both flavors! Then I was able to do a fun birthday cake for a lovely friend who is in Matilda at the Actors Guild of Parkersburg. Again, helping people celebrate special occasions is why I do this!

As much as I love helping others celebrate with sweet treats, it is alway a fun time making things for family. Yesterday was my daughter’s 24th birthday and her annual dirt cake request was granted along with a chance to test out a new peanut butter brownie recipe which proved to be pretty epic!

Up and going early this morning! I’ll be set up at Discovery World on Market today from 2-4 for Izzy’s Birthday Party!

Thanks to everyone who stopped by the booth at the mall this weekend. Even though the crowd was slow at times, I feel it was still worth the effort. I sold quite a bit (and still had leftovers!), handed out business cards, and people thought everything looked nice and professional. Who knows - maybe I’ll do some more events later.

Earlier this week I was at Disney with the Belpre Band. I received a text from one of the band kids who said a couple of them needed to see me. We arranged a place to meet and they handed me a bag and said they wanted to help with my baking business. Yep - I had tears! I will definitely put this gift to good use! Thank you Paige and Monica!! 👨‍🍳🧁🍰
