The love bubble keeps coming as we hear from our partners in the Love Local cabi clothing event…

Everyone remembers that iconic moment in the classic film "Pretty Woman" when Julia Roberts, portraying Vivian, faced humiliation from the Rodeo Drive store managers because of her appearance. Embarrassed and defeated, Vivian left, feeling unworthy of the store's prestige. This sense of deep-rooted shame resonates with many of the remarkable women I have the honor of supporting. Often, it prevents them from shopping or feeling deserving of new outfits.

That’s why this fashion show was such a profound blessing for the women who participated! Our incredible glam squad from cabi Clothing Co. brought boundless love, wrapping each woman in beautiful garments woven with threads of joy. Jessica Locke from Mary Kay dedicated her time to ensure each woman had a radiant glow, highlighting their best features. Hair stylists Kelly and Crystal from Slate Hair Salon worked their magic, adorning the ladies with expert braids, ringlets, and unique styles. Last but certainly not least, the exceptionally talented photographer, Natalie Stephenson, captured these priceless moments, providing memories for the women to cherish forever.

Here’s a heartfelt quote from one of the attendees:

"Thank you so very much for an amazing experience. It really is a confidence booster to not only get new outfits and dolled up with makeup and hair, but to have loving people treat you with dignity and respect and encourage positive self-identity.

I must say, I was very nervous to attend because of my body image complex surrounding my weight. I often struggle to find clothing in my size, and so I do not like to shop. But because of how amazing the women were to me and encouraged me to try things I wouldn’t normally have tried, I was blessed with not only great outfits but a true boost in confidence.

So thank you for a truly wonderful experience. Thank you also for going the extra mile to make an experience like this available to women who might not otherwise have the opportunity to enjoy something so amazing." -Liz
