Cubed Steak with Onion Gravy
You’ll Need
1 1/2 pounds cubed steak
1/3 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 cup Vegetable oil
1 large onion, sliced
1 (14-ounce) can beef broth
1 package dry onion soup mix
Directions
Combine flour, garlic salt, and black pepper in a pie plate or shallow dish. Dredge both sides of cubed steak in flour mixture.
Heat oil in a large skillet (preferably cast iron) over medium-high heat. Add steak (cooking in 2 batches if necessary). Cook 5 minutes per side. Remove steak from skillet and set aside.
If you want to thicken the gravy some, add a few teaspoons of leftover flour from dredging the steak to the drippings in the pan.
Add onion, broth, and onion soup mix to the drippings in the pan. Use a wooden spoon to scrape up any browned bits stuck to the bottom of the pan.
Bring to a simmer and cook until onions are soft.
Return steak to the pan to warm. Serve with mashed potatoes.
Cheesy Garlic Zucchini Steaks
Ingredients :
2 medium zucchini
Kosher salt
4 cloves garlic, finely chopped or grated
1/4 tsp. crushed red pepper flakes, plus more for serving
4 Tbsp. extra-virgin olive oil, divided
2 oz. mozzarella, shredded (about 1/2 c.)
1 oz. Parmesan, finely shredded (about 1/2 c.)
2 Tbsp. fresh basil, torn
Directions :
Using a sharp knife, slice each zucchini in half lengthwise, yielding 4 “steaks.” Score flesh side of each steak 1/4\" deep diagonally at 1/2\" intervals. Rotate steaks 90° and score diagonally again to create a crosshatch pattern. Season steaks on scored sides with 1 teaspoon salt. Let sit to allow zucchini to release moisture, about 15 minutes.
Place a rack in center of oven; preheat to 425°. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook garlic, red pepper flakes, and 2 tablespoons olive oil, stirring, until garlic is fragrant, 1 to 2 minutes. Scrape garlic oil into a small bowl.
In same skillet over medium-high heat, heat 1 tablespoon olive oil. Pat zucchini dry. Arrange 2 halves flesh side down in skillet and cook until golden brown on the bottom, 2 to 3 minutes. Transfer to a baking sheet flesh side up. Repeat with remaining zucchini and 1 tablespoon olive oil.
Brush steaks with garlic oil. Bake zucchini until tender in the center, 8 to 10 minutes. Top with mozzarella and Parmesan.
Heat broiler on high. Broil, watching closely, until cheese is melted and browned, 2 to 3 minutes.
Transfer zucchini to a platter. Top with basil and more red pepper flakes.

Copycat of Starbucks® Lemon Bread
1 (18.25 ounce) package yellow cake mix
1 (4.3 ounce) package non-instant lemon pudding mix
1/2 cup vegetable oil
4 large eggs
8 ounces sour cream
1/2 cup milk
6 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
Icing:
2 1/2 cups confectioners' sugar
3 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice, or more to taste
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease 2 loaf pans.
Combine cake mix, pudding mix, oil, eggs, sour cream, milk, and 6 tablespoons lemon juice into bowl of stand mixer; beat for 2 minutes and pour into prepared loaf pans.
Bake in the preheated oven until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, about 50 minutes. Cool in the pans for 20 minutes before removing from pans to cool completely on a wire rack.
Whisk confectioners' sugar and 3 tablespoons lemon juice together in a bowl until smooth; spoon evenly over the loaves and let set before slicing, about 30 minutes.
