Becca Baked It

It’s a week or so late, but I made a super quick and easy lemon pie for Easter this year. Topped off with some homemade whipped cream, it was just the right touch of sweet for this year’s low-maintenance Easter celebrations. 🍋

Snow day baking pt. 2: repurposed the angel food cake and pastry cream remains and created a super amazing tiramisu. So. Good!

Homemade angel food cake with from scratch pastry cream. Both turned out really delicious, and I’m proud to have had a successful first attempt at both.

I’ve been baking since I was 10. Maybe I started helping my mom bake and cook in the kitchen before that, but to my memory, that’s when I started out on my own.
I remember finding a from scratch chocolate cake recipe in a tween/teen girls magazine and deciding I wanted to make it on my own. I made the cake once, and it was a hit. 🎂
The second time around, I missed a step or misread the recipe, and, well, let’s just say it was a salty inedible disaster. 🥴
I learned how important it is to make sure you read the recipe, and I also learned to love baking somewhere in the middle of all that mess.
I’m 37 now, and I still love to bake. I may not be the best decorator, but I know how to make some of the most delicious treats.
I’m sharing my love for baking and amateur iPhone photography skills over here. Sometimes, I’ll have baked goods up for sale here in OKC. Other times, I’ll just share what I’m making and baking—and maybe a few tips and tricks along the way.
