The power of labels.
During a prank, a student stuck a piece of paper on his classmate's back that read "I'm Stupid," and instructed the rest of the class not to tell the boy. As a result, the students laughed intermittently throughout the day.
In the afternoon, during math class, the teacher presented a challenging problem on the board. No one could solve it except the boy with the sticker. Amid the mysterious giggles, he walked up to the board and solved the problem. The teacher then asked the class to applaud him and removed the paper from his back. She told him, "It seems you weren't aware of the paper your classmate stuck on your back."
Turning to the class, she continued, "Before I hand out any punishment, I want to share two things:
First, throughout your life, people will try to label you with negative words to hinder your progress. If your classmate had known about the paper, he might not have had the confidence to answer the question. *Remember, all you need to do in life is ignore the labels others give you and seize every opportunity to learn, grow, and improve yourself.*
Second, it's clear that there isn't a single loyal friend among you who was willing to tell him about the sticker. It's not the number of friends you have that matters, but the loyalty and support they offer. *If you don't have friends who will defend you behind your back, look out for you, protect you, and genuinely care about you, you're better off alone.*"💕

Everyone who is thinking of getting dogs should read this because you need to understand this reality:
***I am a 21st century dog.***
-I'm a Malinois.
Overskilled among dogs, I excel in all disciplines and I'm always ready to work: I NEED to work.
But nowadays I get asked to chill on the couch all day everyday.
-I am an Akita Inu.
My ancestors were selected for fighting bears.
Today I get asked to be tolerant and I get scolded for my reactivity when another approaches me.
-I am a Beagle.
When I chase my prey, I raise my voice so the hunters could follow.
Today they put an electric collar on me to shut up, and you make me come back to you - no running - with a snap of your fingers.
-I am a Yorkshire Terrier.
I was a terrifying rat hunter in English mines.
Today they think I can't use my legs and they always hold me in their arms.
-I'm a Labrador Retriever.
My vision of happiness is a dive into a pond to bring back the duck he shot to my master.
Today you forget I'm a walking, running, swimming dog; as a result I'm fat, made to stay indoors, and to babysit.
-I am a Jack Russell.
I can take on a fox, a mean badger, and a rat bigger than me in his den.
Today I get scolded for my character and high energy, and forced to turn into a quiet living room dog.
-I am a Siberian Husky.
Experienced the great, wide open spaces of Northern Europe, where I could drag sleds for long distances at impressive speeds.
Today I only have the walls of the house or small garden as a horizon, and the holes I dig in the ground just to release energy and frustration, trying to stay sane.
-I am a border collie
I was made to work hours a day in partnershipwith my master, and I am an unmistakable artist of working with the herd.
Today they are mad at me because, for lack of sheep, I try to check bikes, cars, children in the house and everything in motion.
I am ...
I am a 21st century dog.
I'm pretty, I'm alert, I'm obedient, I stay in a bag...but I'm also an individual who, from centuries of training, needs to express my instincts, and I am *not* suited for the sedentary life you'd want me to lead.
Spending eight hours a day alone in the house or in the garden - with no work and no one to play or run with, seeing you for a short time in the evening when you get home, and only getting a small toilet walk will make me deeply unhappy.
I'll express it by barking all day, turning your yard into a minefield, doing my needs indoors, being unmanageable the rare times I'll find myself outside, and sometimes spending my days sunk, sad, lonely, and depressed, on my pillow.
You may think that I should be happy to be able to enjoy all this comfort while you go to work, but actually I’ll be exhausted and frustrated, because this is absolutely NOT what I'm meant to do, or what I need to be doing.
If you love me, if you've always dreamed of me, if my beautiful blue eyes or my athletic look make you want me, but you can't give me a real dog's life, a life that's really worth living according to my breed, and if you can't offer me the job that my genes are asking, DO NOT buy or adopt me!
If you like the way I look but aren't willing to accept my temperament, gifts, and traits derived from long genetic selection, and you think you can change them with only your good will, then DO NOT BUY OR ADOPT ME.
I’m a dog from the 21st century, yes, but deep inside me, the one who fought, the one who hunted, the one who pulled sleds, the one who guided and protected a herd still lives within.
So think **very** carefully before you choose your dog. And think about getting two, rather than one, so I won't be so very lonely waiting for you all day. Eight or ten hours is just a workday to you, but it's an eternity for me to be alone.

I like this story 😊
A rat looked through a crack in the wall to see the farmer and his wife opening a package. What food might it contain? He was aghast to discover that it was a rat trap.
Retreating to the farmyard the rat proclaimed the warning:
"There is a rat trap in the house, a rat trap in the house!"
The chicken clucked and scratched, raised her head and said:
"Excuse me, Mr. Rat, I can tell this is a grave concern to you, but it is of no consequence to me. I cannot be bothered by it."rat trap with cheese
The rat turned to the pig and told him:
"There is a rat trap in the house, a rat trap in the house!"
"I am so very sorry Mr. Rat," sympathized the pig, "but there is nothing I can do about it but pray. Be assured that you are in my prayers."
The rat turned to the cow. She said:
"Like wow, Mr. Rat. A rat trap. I am in grave danger. Duh?"
So the rat returned to the house, head down and dejected, to face the farmer's rat trap alone.
That very night a sound was heard throughout the house, like the sound of a rat trap catching its prey. The farmer's wife rushed to see what was caught. In the darkness, she did not see that it was a venomous snake whose tail the trap had caught. The snake bit the farmer's wife. The farmer rushed her to the hospital. She returned home with a fever.
Now everyone knows you treat a fever with fresh chicken soup, so the farmer took his hatchet to the farmyard for the soup's main ingredient.
His wife's sickness continued so that friends and neighbors came to sit with her around the clock. To feed them the farmer butchered the pig.
The farmer's wife did not get well. She died, and so many people came for her funeral that the farmer had the cow slaughtered to provide meat for all of them to eat.
The next time you hear that someone is facing a problem and think that it does not concern you, remember that when there is a rat trap in the house, the whole farmyard is at risk.

The Sea Hag’s Story
Sea Hag Soaps & Art Mercantile was started in 2001 to give people a real place to buy many one of a kind, local, regional, quality, handmade items and fine art. We restored a 1920’s barn and it became the mercantile of many things and a place to make our soaps and skin care line. Think friendly, diverse art gallery of US made goods, that include- pottery, handmade furniture, jewelry, art work, organic coffee, teas, honey, maple products, candles antiques and the best handmade soaps and products. Sea Hag became a unique and friendly shopping experience for all your senses. The “Sea Hag” name came from an old wooden boat we had with the same name. The owner, Colleen, designed the logo. She’s a laughing, happy Sea Hag, that has learned a few lessons and gained some wisdom along the way!
We moved the business after 20 years at the barn. You can still buy all of our products and we will have some events on occasion at the new space.
