The 2023-2024 school year has almost come to a close. We have had a very busy, but productive year at the Workforce Center. To close out, we held our First Career Tech Awards Gala to celebrate all programs offered at the center.
We recognized students who earned industry credentials/certifications. These certifications not only make our kids more marketable for the workforce, but it also let’s employers know that our kids possess a certain skillset or knowledge to further qualify them for the job.

At the Workforce Center, we pride ourselves on leading by example. CTE Counselor Mr. Crum has been diligently recruiting, supporting and encouraging students to get their certificates in heavy equipment operating.
What better way to convince the reluctant learner to do? DO IT YOURSELF! Our Director Ms. Hall and Mr. Crum both completed the skid steer certification and other staff members at the WDC are slated to follow💪🏽😀.
Good luck to the students who decided to come in on a Saturday morning to complete the lab/training! Learning never stops…and it’s even more fun when you can do it as a team!
It’s always a great day of teaching and learning at the WDC!!
This year we offered Cooperative Education as a part of our Work Based Learning (WBL). Thank you to Evergreen Medical Center for agreeing to be our industry partner in order to give our student employee Amber King an opportunity to work in the medical field, while finishing up her high school journey.
At the start of the internship, Amber was unsure of what she wanted to do after graduation. We agreed that she would be a floating technician working in various departments. She started in medical records and when it was time to go to another department, they did not want her to go.
We are so proud of Amber for truly making the most of this experience and capitalizing on every opportunity to help out/work beyond her required co-op hours. She saw that Registration was short staffed and stepped right in to assist (even on weekends and holidays).
After working in multiple departments, Amber has decided to study to become a radiology technician! We look forward to watching you blossom and continue to impact the lives of those you encounter🫶🏽.
Congratulations to one of our top Dual Enrollment welders Jermonte Stallworth!!
Staying home! Congratulations on signing with Reid State!
