To those of you who are new to the Panhandle, or NW Florida, even in the last 10 years, let me explain why we elect Republicans the way we do here with the understanding that we are overwhelmingly Republican.

The FL Peninsula from Jacksonville to south of Ocala have many more voters than we do. South Florida is as big as 30 states! NW FL and coastal Florida here to that point is mostly rural land. We only have 4 Congressmen/women, few state Senators and few state Representatives. Those we elect in these positions MUST understand how the government works prior to hitting those offices in order to bring support and funds to our areas or we have no chance.

Therefore, we elect good solid Rs and those who already have a community base of support so that they can learn the process and move our agenda forward when elected to higher positions. Only when they have built relationships and respect within the government process will they retain a voice. At that point they earn leadership positions where they can “bring the money home”. Otherwise we give it all up to South Florida unless there is someone in a high position of authority with integrity to work with the entire state. Same with state Senators and Congress. Only in leadership do we gain attention. The higher we go the better for us. Once in a blue moon we have a future Senate President, State Speaker, US Senate and Congressional elected officials whom we MUST support for the above purpose.

We cannot be replacing people when they are rising unless they do something extraordinarily wrong. That’s why we go with incumbents most of the time.

Rule 8 of the Republican Party of Florida rules, does say that we can endorse. Only in a state or federal race is this advised. Rick Scott is the state Senate incumbent with opportunities ahead which can help our state, that’s why the state endorsed him. Donald Trump had already received enough votes that we knew he would win enough to be our nominee. That’s why the state party endorsed him.

On a local level endorsing is a different story. Learn before you speak! These are our friends going against each other which can cause complete division within our local parties. We must work together or kindly work for the candidate we support without endorsing. On another note, there are STATUTES which work simultaneously with our party rules. If some of the candidates pay the fee to gain ballot access instead of by petition, the percent of the county’s part of that fee is forfeited if they endorse. Read that again! Should there not be fees paid, RECs believe this to be an open door to circumvent rules.

No business or organization can properly work well if all under their umbrella does not follow the same rules. Think military!

Just an explanation that I hope you all read and find helpful. 25 years of experience is not for naught.

💥FYI: There were 7 votes AGAINST endorsing Stuart Tettemer for Mayor of Panama City Beach at the REC meeting Monday night. It’s not a good idea to endorse in the primary with more than one Republican in the race, especially if one of them is an incumbent. It is divisive within the party. The state advises against it. There was a PCB commissioner there who wanted to speak after the motion who was not allowed to do so even though Tettemer was allowed to speak for himself for 2 minutes. The commissioner was ignored. I will attach a media response to this vote.

We must vote with the party for President of the U.S. to replace the Democrat Party no matter what!

There are good reasons why we do not endorse in a primary. We have to work with the one who is elected for one, the other is above. There is also a reason that the elected officials in Bay do not attend the REC meetings, The Roundtable, etc. and do not donate to the local party. There have been public attacks on our Republican elected officials by the Chairman and others.

I shall continue to work hard to get elected officials to switch to and support the Republican Party. I stand for right over wrong and righteousness.

Please think of switching to vote Republican to gain control over those things we are suffering from under Democrats rule. Republican Party of Florida

The Bay County Canvassing Board held their Vote By Mail Ballot meeting all morning today. Bay County Supervisor of Elections, Mark Andersen, and his professional staff ran those ballots through his two systems today recording our votes.

Canvassing Board Chair, Judge Grammer, member Bay County Commissioner Doug Moore and member Andersen went over those few ballots which were unable to be read by the systems to determine “voter intent”. The public was in attendance.

A welcome sight this morning was this year’s class of Jr. Leadership Bay, there to observe for a while! Andersen and Judge Grammer gave these future leaders an overall run through of exactly what was going on as well as the speculation and reality of VBM voting. Good to see our youth engaged in the voting process!@

RPOF Update:

Two men have put their hats into the ring for RPOF State Chairman - Evan Power and Peter Feaman. In the last 3 days, Evan has had endorsements galore! Two past Chairmen, Sen. Rubio, Congressman Matt Gaetz, Commissioner Wilton Simpson, Congressman Neal Dunn, Congresswoman Laura Lee and many more officials and state committee members have come to stand behind him.

I believe this and one other move may pull together both factions of the Republican Party Florida to make us stronger in unity! Stay tuned for more!

Yours in service,

Mitzi

From Peter Schorsch:

Evan Power to run for RPOF Chair -

Power, currently the Republican Party of Florida Vice Chair and the highest-ranking member behind embattled Chair Christian Ziegler, tells Florida Politics he will run for Chair.

The Florida GOP is expected to remove Ziegler as Chair during another emergency meeting Jan. 8 unless Ziegler resigns first.

Power has pushed for action by the party after r**e allegations against Ziegler became public, setting in motion the moves to sanction Ziegler and ultimately remove him.

Christian Ziegler refuses to resign at closed-door meeting 12/18/2023

This is the latest on the sad situation with the RPOF as of today. We will have this taken care of next month. Brighter days ahead!!

Christian Ziegler refuses to resign at closed-door meeting Frustration boiled over at the Rosen Centre Hotel in Orlando after Florida GOP chairman Christian Ziegler refused to step down.

Photos from Mitzi Prater - Florida GOP's post 12/17/2023

RPOF CHAIRMAN update:
Christian Ziegler has been censured with no authority, no salary & no reimbursement. The Executive Board of the RPOF has officially asked him to resign. The only descenting vote was Christian Ziegler. He refuses to resign, but an election for a new Chair will be held next month. In the meantime, Vice Chair, Evan Power, is in charge.

A law suit from Christian with the RPOF has been mentioned.

First, MERRY CHRISTMAS TO EVERYONE!

Now for an update on the Republican Party of Florida.

The Republican state chairman, Christian Ziegler, whom I heavily campaigned against because of his character, has been indicted for r**e and he and his wife Bridget, a school board member in Sarasota, have admitted to a three way sexual relationship with another woman. Both of them were in the frey who started Moms 4 Liberty. The indictment has yet to be proven and is being investigated. This situation is placing a tremendous burden on the Republican Party of Florida in a dynamic presidential year.

Christian has denied any wrongdoing at this point. The State Executive Board asked him to resign almost two weeks ago. As he refuses, the Executive Board will meet in Orlando on Sunday to vote on firing him, stop his salary and other conciderations. It is their decision to make. Several elected officials have asked him to resign including the Governor, the Cabinet and Senator Scott. He has refused.

If the Board votes to take action, the Vice Chair, Evan Power, will call a meeting of the State Committee to elect a new chairman going forward. You will not be without a Chairman!

Bridget Ziegler has resigned from the Leadership Institute, where she was Vice President in charge of instructing those who may wish to run for school board positions in the United States, based in Sarasota. Tuesday night at the Sarasota School Board meeting the School Board Chairman presented a resolution where there was a 4-1 non-binding vote to ask her to resign her school board position, Bridget being the descending vote.

Today, Christian supposedly asked for a $2 million payout from the party to resign. This was laughed at and I am told will not be considered. Two state committee members who were said to have floated this offer include National Committeeman, Peter Feaman and Former Chairman, Senator Joe Gruters.

We must take care of this problem and move forward with our party to build it with those who care about our state and nation as well as our local party workforce.

As I have not seen any information given to Bay County, I felt a responsibility to inform you as to what is happening with our party. I am diligently working around the state to help move the Republican Party of Florida in a direction of integrity. Please pray for all involved as this will be a strenuous process hopefully to be settled very soon.

Thank you for your support,
Mitzi
