My favorite time of year. My favorite song. I have discovered that Christmas decorating is not quite as overwhelming if you do it slowly, a few projects at a time. Three years ago i had a plan to list an image a day for 26 days, an image to go with the letters in the alphabet. It was during unknown days, to encourage us all. Now i have taken those writings and paintings and added special memories to be included in my new book, Chosen. Last week I got the urge to do a much needed clean up in my art room. I pulled things off the shelves and piled it on the floor to sort through. Three bags of trash later, I put things back on the shelves and a new disposable cloth on my table. Maybe it will last a few weeks!!

She woke up with a choice. Remembering the hard of yesterday and stumbling out of the bed with the heaviness of the world hanging over her or to see the good and to be thankful she was given a new day to make a difference. He created her to live her life to make a difference. Today she chooses to be thankful in a world that is broken💗 to look up instead of behind. To have hope instead of despair. To share joy instead of sadness. To reflect on the good in the future and not dwell on things in the past that she could not change. Her heart chooses to be thankful. “This is the day the LORD has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it” Psalm 118:24

“Guardian angel”Finishing touches on her are complete for now, as i study her details. She represents His LIGHT in the darkness. She represents LOVE in the midst of hate. She represents COMPASSION when people are so quick to judge. She represents FORGIVENESS when hearts are hardened. She represents COMFORT when we are hurting. She represents STRENGTH when problems are overwhelming. She represents PEACE when there seems to be none. She represents HOPE in a world that is desperately seeking it. “For He will command His angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways,” Psalm 91:11.

During a morning walk on the beach recently, I found an old piece of wood bobbing in the waves. Despite its rough appearance, it caught my eye and I waded out to pick it up. Many people might have considered it ocean trash but I saw it`s potential for beauty . It reminded me that often when things seem ordinary or damaged they still hold value. He can indeed make beauty from ashes.
