How to Prevent Common Running Injuries is tomorrow - 630pm at the Mandan Middle School track. Bring a chair or grab a spot on the bleachers at Mandan Middle School track. Wear clothes and shoes to jog around in too. Charity is going to hook you up!

We will still meet on the track, from 630-730 tonight, if you want to get some miles on your feet, just no speaker tonight.

Tuesday night @ Mandan Middle School Northern Lights Physical Therapy will be a guest. ***If you prefer to walk and bring kids that’s just fine too.Bleachers are available but you are welcome to bring a chair as well.

Next Sunday 701 Run Club at Heat House Infrared Fitness Studio
If you’re looking for a hilly trail to run on, Sleepy Hollow Park is a great option. I ran just shy of 5 miles this morning looping around the trails. Most of the trail is in good shape, although it does get a little narrow in some areas. It’s largely popular with bikers so make sure you’re alert and paying attention at all times!
Also, if you’re in the trees, watch out for our slithery friends. 🐍 They get out of the way pretty quick though.

Talk to any runner and it’s not uncommon to hear them complain about a running injury that has stalled or stopped their training plan. Shin splints, knee pain, IT bands, hips, and glutes are all common culprits.

Here’s a little about Julie…I’m a retired teacher/ coach and I worked for the Bismarck school district for 41 years…the last 37 as a physical education teacher at CHS.
I coached middle school basketball and gymnastics, high school volleyball and swimming, finishing with 35 years as head XC coach at Century and head track coach there for 25 years and assistant for 4 years. I retired from the classroom in 2013 and from coaching in 2018.
I have been running for about 50 years and have done a number of road races, a few half marathons and one full marathon. I don’t consider myself an expert on running but I have worked with many remarkable student athletes in my career.
We are so excited to visit with Julie and see you all on the track!
