I had been doing your hair for 5 years, you were so amazed at my roundbrush technique and ever since your first appointment you kept coming to me. You supported me when I opened my lash business and started coming to me for lashes as well. As time went by you went from client to friend. You had just celebrated your 50th birthday and were so excited to go on a girls trip, I was supposed to see you tomorrow and you were going to tell me all about it. Melissa you were such a caring, funny, thoughtful, loyal, and beautiful inside and out person. We were there when Wille had a terrifying incident with his dad and he will forever remember you helping him. You were taken too soon. My heart hurts for your boys and family. The world lost a wonderful soul. My you rest in peace ❤️🕊️

It's so crazy how much they grow in a year! On to one more year of pre-k for London and 5th grade for Bentley!

Yesterday the unimaginable happen, we lost our home from a fire. Our family is safe and thank god we all got out ok. The kids, Wille and I are so greatful to be here and to have our family and friends who have reached out to help us ❤️ We have a long road ahead of us, we don't know how much of the house can be saved, if anything, yet but we do know it will be at least 8 month before we can go back to our home. It was the scariest moment of my life and I am just so so so thankful our family is ok

Let's talk retention!!

This is from one of my beautiful clients classic lash fill, that lash was so beautifully grown out I had to take a pic!

Ok so what is retention? Retention in the lash world is how long and how well your lashes stay. It's tricky to find the source if you have bad retention because there are so many different variables!

It could be lash tech error, not placing the lashes properly, not using enough glue, using too much glue, using too heavy of a lash for that client, not switch glue drops often enough, not cleaning lashes before you start, humidity too high, humidity too low, not having proper isolation, etc! Sooo many things!

It also could be a client issue, not washing lashes, picking, wearing mascara, using too oily of face or hair products, not washing them, sleeping on their face, wearing mascara, rubbing eyes, getting them wet before the 24 hours, wearing mascara, heavily sweating before the 24 hours, not washing them, etc! Can you guess the most common ones? 😆

Retention can be frustrating but make sure you are having a in-depth talk with your client about what they are doing, the second they step out of your studio, with their lashes and if they are doing everything correctly, look at your self and ask "ok where am I going wrong and how can I fix it"

Lashing is not for the weak 😂 it is super frustrating sometimes especially first starting out! But practice makes better, cuz no one is perfect! 😘
