You’re probably asking what’s shade shifting!? For me shade shifting is when you use pre existing pigment in the hair and another direct pigment to neutralize or make a new pigment on the hair before you apply your final color. This helps better make an even canvas for more desirable results. In this case my clients hair faded blue & she likes her hair to be a TRUE green. Instead of trying to lighten the blue out causing unnecessary damage or neutralizing it I used the handy dandy color wheel to help me out. We all know yellow + blue = green. So I applied a yellow direct dye over the blue to turn it green so that way her existing pigment was where I needed it to be before applying the final color. You may ask well why didn’t I just apply green over the blue? Because I didn’t want her green to turn super emerald of have tons of blue background to it. It’s all about thinking smarter not harder! I feel like doing this sometimes saves me so many extra steps when my clients are bouncing around from color to color. You can do this with direct dyes straight out of the tube, boosters or you can even take a toner bottle and mix hot water and add a few drops of the direct dye of your choice to make your color go a lot further. I learned of this about a year and a half ago when I saw another hair stylist do it & talk about it. I hope this tip helped or maybe you can use this in the future when you need it! It’s little things like this where you honestly don’t think about it and how easy it is unless someone tells you or you see someone else do it!

New extension method loading…. I’ll be offering this starting 2023‼️‼️ She’s flat afffffff & you can stack so many wefts on top of one another for max density!! A pro is you can wear your hair up the first day. This application can be installed closer to the hair line ( say good bye to k-tips at the hair line). She’s reusable ANDDDDDDD the hair can last 9-12mo. That’s just touching the surface for the many reasons why this method is the sh*t🤩.
