3-step knee bulletproof routine

#1. ATG(🍑✌️🌱) Split Squat
Knee over your foot is the name of the game. Don’t worry about the front heel coming off the ground, just try to cover your calf with as much of the back of your leg as you can. Maintain control down and up.

Progression-start on a box or elevated surface and work your way lower and lower to the ground.

2 sets, 5 reps each leg.

#2. Tibialis Raise
Lean your upper body against a flat surface and slowly raise your toes up to the ceiling, keeping your heels on the floor.

Progression-start with your feet closer to the wall and slowly move them further and further away from the wall as you build up strength.

2 sets, 8 raises total.

#3. Wall Sit
Feet shoulder width apart and flat in the ground, legs 90 degrees.

Progression-increase time, distractions highly encouraged 🥸

1 set-max hold.”

“CrossFit Open 22.1 - Mobility Prep

▶️▶️SAVE FOR LATER

The workout:

3 Wall Walks
12 Dumbbell Snatches
15 Box Jump Overs

As many rounds in 15 minutes.

22.1 has a lot of overhead movements with the sn**ch in the wall walks so being able to access as much of your upper back as you can is going to make this easier on the shoulders. We also added in some hip controlled mobility to get full extension in the sn**ches and to assist with the box jump overs.

The mobility prep:

1️⃣GIANT SIDE LYING CIRCLE - full body stretch to work into rotation of the upper back. Keep the top leg knee bent and pressed into a block or ball, reach forward with the top arm and create a giant circle with your finger tips.

2️⃣WALL SLIDES - use a foam roller or something that can roll up the wall. Place elbows on the roller and isolate the movement to the shoulders. Feel the extension happen in the upper back - great area to unlock before sn**ches.

3️⃣HIP CARS - kneeling position, march towards the wall, create as much range as you can out of the hip (scour the joint to its fullest capacity/range of motion) opening up the hips will be great before box jumps overs and will save your lower back during sn**ches.

4️⃣CLOSED CHAIN HIP PIKE - basically a down dog, get used to planting those hand into the ground and inverting. Open up the shoulders and the upper back and create some room for your arms overhead.

- Put extra vegetables in soups where the flavor blends
- Blend tasteless greens like spinach and kale into your fruit smoothies
