Went out this afternoon for one dive to check an old spot. Not a bad haul. Looks like those numbers are back on the primary list :)

Research has proven that the modern Tiger shark looses around 30,000 shark teeth in it's life time from feeding. Most all sharks loose teeth every time they eat. The Megalodon had teeth that measured over 7" long and had Whales for lunch. They bit and ate their on teeth in the process! A friend of mine has put in a ton of research on this and has an interesting blog on Megalodon shark teeth damaged from feeding. It may give you a new prospective when you're avoiding the "damaged" teeth for you're collection. Those teeth have been to battle!

First dive this morning. 6.42" x 4.6". That's a hand full of shark tooth :)

Finally back in the water after a busy holiday season. First dive of the year this morning produced my first 5 incher of the year :)

South Carolina Ranked Most at Risk for Shark Attack Shark attacks are nothing to joke about and a recent study from the University of West Florida ranks our coast most dangerous for a shark attack in the continental US.

A few of my favorite artifact finds from this year. Legally recovered from South Carolina waters by permit.

Razor sharp 4 1/8" lower Meg I found earlier this week. Killer color and near flawless. Found near Savannah, GA.

High quality Georgia Meg I found this week. Just finished cleaning it so it's still a little wet. The root should be lighter once it finishes drying. Just shy of 3 3/4" Not a monster, but very near flawless.

5 3/16" + serrated I found today. How on earth a tooth with such a slick bourlett has enamel peel is beyond me.
$200 if anyone is interested.

3 11/16" Chubutensis I found earlier this week. Feeding damage near the tip of course. These things had to eat :) Awesome splotchy color. Very desirable and collected species. Only three rivers here in SC that these come out of. $135 O.B.O.
