Baugnez crossroads near Malmedy, Belgium, on December 17, 1944 Eighty-four American prisoners of war were massacred by their German captors. The prisoners were assembled in a field and shot with machine guns; those still alive were killed by close-range shots to the head.

AATW IN BELGIUM 🇧🇪
Then we hit the road to Belgium. What very strange feeling riding on the very same itinerary the 82nd used 75 years ago. On their way they had the same vision as us today crossing the WWI battlefields and cemetery with thousands graves.
Few miles north of Reims we stop at Sissonne, the 82nd airborne was stationed here before boarding the truck to ride to Belgium on December 18... anecdotal information we found there a very special well named “ puits des songes “ (well dream). Hundred paratroopers used to make pictures here ... we met with the story of few of them in Normandy... what a amazing situation to trace them here few months later.
Reims area is a fantastic and it was an obvious place to connect with battle of the bulge.
Here the camp where boys of the 101 st airborne stationed before heading the Belgium front in December.
Next to Reims we will have the opportunity to rub shoulders with the history of WW 1.
Here a stop at FORT DE LA POMPELLE
Reims ... it is from that place we will start our tour to Belgium, we will travel back in time from the day and the place the end of the World War in Europe with signed on 7 of May 1945.
