Thursday morning did a perk and New Plymouth hit groundwater at 9‘4” so we installed a perforated drain pipe wrapped in fabric so the homeowner and county could monitor the water level for up to three months. As we dug the hole every time the soil changed to something else I removed a quarter bucket of soil and set it aside so the county can test it. Here’s how the week started. We had a customers septic tank lid cave in and break apart inside the tank after inspecting around 50 years ago whoever put in the tank put it below grade 4 1/2 feet and built up to the grass level with cobbles and mortar on top of the tank. I’m surprised it lasted this long. After exposing and tearing down, we were able to salvage his septic tank all we need to buy a lid and and bury it.
