Roarin' Rory: Nampa 9-year-old earns spot in 2024 BMX World Championships Rory Hyler became the youngest girl from Idaho to ever quality for the UCI BMX Racing World Championships in South Carolina.

This is shared from a BMX page I follow, it’s spectacular talking about grands, but I found it is just as important at local races, state, gold cup, really any race! I have seen it at our local races as well as races I’ve traveled to, I know I have been guilty of this myself!! Take a minute to read and reflect!

Just a note to all parents here in Tulsa at Grands-

I cannot tell you how many times I will walk by parents and hear....

“I didn’t fly you all the way to Oklahoma for you to race like this.”

Infant … If your statement starts with “I” …. Then you’re making it about you.

If your kid isn’t showing gratitude for the opportunity I get it.

If your kid lost or didn’t race how you expected and your statement is “I spent all this money, I spent all the time…..”

You’re making it about you.

What happened to the memories you made? The time you had with your child. Exactly !!!

This weekend I get one on one time with my girl. They get time being kids playing games with close friends. They will have the opportunity to travel and I will have had the opportunity to give them that.

That is what I’ve worked for….the opportunity to take my child places and let them grow from their experiences.

Your child’s results do not reflect your parenting, but their character does.

Let me tell you what you are reinforcing to your child:

Good Performance = love and attention
Bad Performance = time wasted together

You’re going to end up with a child who resents you and this sport.

We are all guilty of holding something over our children.

What I’ve found as a once performance driven child is that I struggle as an adult equating my worth to what I had to offer others by my performance.

Kids can be held to expectations on the track without equating their worth and your time to their results.

Everyone have fun and soak every minute up they will be raising their own before we know it... We only get one shot at this...

2023 USA BMX RACE OF CHAMPIONS DAY 1 Live from Sagenet Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma!

We had a great season with tons of memories made! We may have a new chalenge coming up thanks to Brody....Stitch's vs. Bunnies.....so we will seewhat the upcoming year has to bring! Great job everyone!

Let’s do this!!! Gem State Nationals!! Racing starts today! If you aren’t going to be in there in person to watch you can catch all the action live on YouTube just search 2023 Gem State Nationals! I will try to post the link once it goes live!

Three of our riders were able to take advantage of an amazing clinic with a wonderful teacher! Way to put in the work!

Did you know that when a track hosts a national, USA BMX comes in and runs the race entirely? It's an amazing well oiled machine and we can't wait to watch the magic happen next week.

As the host track, our responsibilities are to provide several things - including the emergency medical crew, portable bathrooms, seating, trash disposal, and more. And all of that is at our cost. The way we will pay for all of the above is with the fees from parking, camping, and concessions - and hopefully we will also be able to add some to the bank so we can invest more in the tracks (and Indoor!) in the coming years - but we need your help. Please share with your networks and see if you know anyone who can donate their time to help out.

If you're looking for service hours, as a 501c3 we can sign off on your volunteering towards your hours goals! Or, as always, we will offer Bike Bucks ($10 voucher per volunteer shift) for use at any Idaho BMX track (Caldwell, Eagle, or Idaho Indoor).

Shout out to our newest rider! Jace, this kid has some huge drive! He is very supportive of all the riders on the team as well as other riders. Just moved up to 9 inter on Thursday.

Shout out to our podium finishers today at SeaTac Gold Cup Qualifier!!! Also extra shout out to Christian and Jace they took two Washington State Qualifiers yesterday, A 1st and 2nd. And to Oakley he made it to mains, didn’t qualify but raced hard! Kira no mains but also raced hard!

Lethal BMX doesn’t care about trophies, all our racers had fun and that ultimately what we care about they all did fantastic! That being said, it is still fun to receive trophies! So a shout out to Kira Connell 3 third place win during speed week, Nic Connell with a first place at gold cup qualifier. And let’s not forget our littlest rider Walker Connell on the strider, every week doing more and more of the track with out “Dad power”!

I’d like to welcome our newest team rider LJ! 6 novice! His mom says he asks to race daily and all but sleeps with his bike!! This is why we race! The littles! Welcome to the team LJ!

It’s a great day for racing!! Let get it!!!
