madeleine + andrew grabbed pre-ceremony drinks at with their wedding party instead of formal portraits and i love how these shots by turned out.

this is one of the many ways they opted to make the day feel more authentic to them - opting out of traditions they didn’t love and substituting them with whatever felt more authentic to their story.

i really loved working with them on planning their day because of this. my heart sings when couples want to do whatever makes them happy on their day, and throw out the notion of “should” or “have to” 💕

Kelly + Justin had one of the most fun wedding parties and wedding PARTY I have seen! Every time I came to check in on the wedding party at the hotel, they were dancing and singing at the top of their lungs, hyping up Kelly. And then when it came time for the dance floor, every single age group was out there until the end of the night. Everyone danced their hearts out and it was one of the most packed dance floors of the season so far.

I absolutely love when I see my couples let loose and enjoy themselves once all the wedding day “to-do’s” are complete. After all - it is your wedding day…it should be fun!

It is so clear the incredible + fun community they have cultivated. From loving the little ones in their family so much, to surrounding themselves with the most fun friends, the love was definitely in the air and the positive vibes were contagious!

emma + colton’s day in the mountains

they were such a fun couple to have the opportunity to work with. how they navigated wedding planning while being full-time doctors while also giving birth to their son (adorable jude!) ALL WHILE being the kindest + calmest couple ever will never not be impressive to me.

emma came to stanley regularly growing up, and it was such a beautiful full circle moment for them to return for their beautiful day.

their day was one full of sunshine, great music, small moments, delicious food + drinks, and dancing the night away under the moon 🌙

Happy 5th gotcha day to my daughter. Things I have learned from her:

- Rest is important (at least 18 hours of it per day preferably)
- Boundaries are imperative
- Love is not always reciprocated
- Outside can be scary
- It’s ok to need to charge your social battery
- Parties are sometimes too loud
- Bedtime snuggles are the best
- Getting left behind totally stinks
- It’s ok to not respond to requests from others
- Make sure to get your daily vitamin D (preferably via a patch on the dining room floor)
- Christmas (ornaments) are the best
- Billie can sometimes be annoying

S + F wanted to leave behind wedding traditions and just do a day that felt “them”.

So we filled their day with meaningful touches + personal elements. Here are some things I love that they did:

+ went backpacking the week before their wedding for some quality time together pre-wedding
+ had guests stand in a circle during the ceremony so they felt closer to them
+ the mother of the bride made all the flower arrangements. She also made the bride’s dress!
+ opted for pie instead of cake because they loveeee .cafe
+ wanted colorful napkins (love me some color!)
