Strut Social Media — the same, just better ✨

I’m so excited to officially announce the new rebrand of Strut Social Media!

Investing my own professional branding is something I’ve been wanting to do for quite some time now. 2023 was both a very challenging yet, a very transformative year for my business. And now that we’re approaching 3 years (wild), have worked with more incredible (and nationwide) brands and signed more retainer content photography clients, it just felt like the right time to turn it up a notch ⚡

Working with .co was the most amazing experience. I really wanted to keep somewhat of the same aesthetic I had going, just with more of a luxe brand direction in place that also aligns with hospitality industry and my content photography. My account has become somewhat of a client portfolio and I plan to keep that consistent, along with some more valuable SMM, Content Photography & Entrepreneurial info, tips, advice, etc! Gina really took the time to get to know my true WHY behind this business along with my vision and goals for the rebrand — and I’m beyond thrilled to share with you all.

Exciting news — Strut Social Media is getting a full professional rebrand!! 🪄

Investing in my own branding is something I’ve thought about doing for too long now, I’ve just never felt ready enough to really go for it. But now that the new year is here and I have a clear and bigger vision & direction set for my business, I finally decided to move forward with a super talented brand designer and cannot WAIT to bring this era to life!

My website is currently offline during the rebrand and should be back up and running next week. I will provide updates on the launch but for any inquiries before then, please just send me a DM and we can chat further there.

A narrative I've flipped over the past few months?

Being crazy busy isn't all chaos, it’s GROWTH.

Okok don't get wrong, things have totally been chaotic and I've literally felt like I've been going a mile a minute since Q2 with many menty bs happening in between BUT…. amidst the whirlwind of the past few months in business, I finally took a moment to really reflect and did find silver linings in it all:

Over the last 3-4 months, I’ve had the privilege of:
😭 Collaborating with over 30 incredible brands
❤‍🔥 Working alongside the best people & teams
📸 Extremely growing my professional portfolio
🤝 Meeting & networking with industry leaders
💻 Running my team & systems better than before
⚡ Planning a level-up for my brand in the new year
🧘🏽‍♀️ Re-prioritizing my self care and routine
(and obv can't forget about meeting marky mark)

So yes, the hustle has been V real but as a result of that, so has the growth. And I'm beyond thankful to be doing what I love everyday and for every single person who has supported me along the way — it truly means the world.

ICYDK, a Service Guide is digital deliverable that can be added to your website as a download and/or to your onboarding system. Service guides can be created on any design system (I use ) and should really represent & portray your brand story, portfolio of work, and next steps to get further connected!

The holidays can be a very overwhelming time of year so the more content you can batch create and schedule ahead, the more time and less stress you'll have on your plate! Plan your strategy & schedule all upcoming posts, reels and stories on a content scheduler — I use & highly recommend

→ UPDATE YOUR INSTAGRAM BIO
Your bio is the first thing someone sees when they land on your profile & those 150 characters should be used to best introduce yourself and your brand, help your audience understand what you do / who you serve, and most importantly — prompt next steps! If you’re running a holiday sale, booking a popular service, launching something new: make that clear in your bio

→ SET UP AN INSTAGRAM SHOP
If you're a product-based biz or a brick & mortar selling products (like a restaurant selling merch), setting up a shoppable account will help streamline the experience so customers never need to leave your account and can purchase in just a few taps

→ INFLUENCER COLLABS

PSA: You can be fully booked out without having thousands of Instagram followers...

Living in world where going “viral” seems to be the overall goal can be really tough to navigate as going viral doesn’t automatically mean you’re going to make more money ❌

We really need to focus more on the important revenue numbers, rather than the vanity metrics.

So if you're showing up on this platform, you should be strictly concentrated on:
+ Building strong client/customer relationships
+ Creating & sticking to an effective and consistent strategy
+ Nurturing your current community of followers
+ Posting targeted content to attract your ideal clients
+ Highlighting your roster of clients/customers
+ Growing an authentic, engaging community
+ Genuinely showing up as YOU

When you do all of these things, you build the "like, know and trust" factors in your business which are ultimately your keys to growth and client retention.

Call-to-actions (CTAs) help provide a way to guide your audience's actions, build a more interactive & responsive community and make the most of your presence on social media — whether you're using it for personal or business purposes!

When it comes to CTAs, here are 5 reasons why they're an important factor of your content:

1. INTERACTIONS & ENGAGEMENT
Encourages your followers to interact with your content (liking, commenting, sharing, tagging, messaging, clicking a link, etc). These actions invite your audience to participate in a conversation / activity related to your content which helps foster a sense of community, two-way communication, boost engagement metrics and build trust as it shows that you value their input and participation

2. CONVERSION & PROMOTIONS
Directs users to take specific actions (making a purchase or signing up) thereby driving conversions from your content. This is also essential for driving traffic & attention to your offerings if running a campaign or promoting a product or service, etc.

3. MEASURABLE GOALS
Provides measurable metrics (like tracking the number of clicks on a link) for assessing how effective your content performance is

4. USER GUIDANCE
Tells users what to do next which reduces confusion and encourages action. Without clear instructions, users may simply scroll past your content

The transition from summer to fall is a pretty busy time for the restaurant industry as the majority of food & drink menus will change to include new seasonal ingredients, summer patio season comes to an end, AND it's a prime time to start prepping for the holiday season ahead!

When planning content, it's smart for restaurants to participate in trending social media holidays as an entertaining and valuable way to share relevant industry content, get more involved with their community, and help generate more brand awareness.

SO, aside from the big national holidays, here's a list of some other upcoming September dates and content ideas that restaurants can add to their marketing calendar 🗓

Sept 2nd: Coconut Day
Promote end-of-summer coconut flavored drinks & dishes

Sept 5th: Day of Charity
Partner with a local charity and create a menu special to support that charity

Sept 7th: Beer Lover’s Day
Make a reel of a bartender pouring new seasonal beers and/or promote most popular beers

Sept 9th: “I Love Food” Day
Involve your community by highlight your customer's favorite dishes in a carousel or reel

Sept 16th: Guacamole Day
Promote a guac + chips special or dishes with guacamole in them

Sept 17th: Brunch Day
Host an on-site brunch event, promote best selling dishes, add brunch specials

Sept 23rd: First Day of Fall
Perfect day to launch new seasonal menus, remind your audience of upcoming seasonal events, and add fall-themed specials to your menu!

Sept 26th: Pancake Day
Create a "breakfast for dinner" pancake special

Sept 29th: Coffee Day
Promote popular coffee drinks/desserts or add holiday specials to menu

When becoming a CEO / Freelancer, setting clear boundaries with clients is undoubtedly the key to help you run a business with ease 🔑

When you're your own boss, you are in the driver’s seat.

You are in full control of how you handle your business, set your schedule, make your rulebook and depending on what you do, you can pretty much work from anywhere you want.

Now although that freedom is amazing, creating and sticking to boundaries with clients is a crucial step that needs to be taken in order to not end up resenting that freedom 📣

When I first started my business, I severely lacked in setting boundaries...

I was texting clients back on weekend mornings.
I was doing extra tasks out of my scope of work.
I was accepting negotiated lower package prices.
I was sporadically working on holidays & at events.
I was being the definition of a "yes" woman... and the list goes on.

As social media managers specifically, our skills are in high demand and work can come at us fast which of course is super exciting HOWEVER, we ideally need to be cautious & clear as we start working with new clients on what our boundaries are as it gives you (and them) a framework for what’s acceptable! And without any set boundaries, it could lead you into a position where you feel like you want to quit just as you're getting started.

Remember, you’re the boss and you don’t need to feel bad about doing what’s best for your and your biz. If you take it from me, as soon as I started sticking to my boundaries, everything began to run so much more smoothly and stress free.

Along with the finally features, there's also an update with REELS TEMPLATES — a new enhanced experience where in addition to the number of clips and music; text, transitions and AR affects have been added! The templates browser has also been revamped so you can now browse which templates are trending and recommended for you.

Instagram is constantly evolving and it’s important to stay up to date on new features as they really give us more freedom and control on the platform 👏
