When I think of all the rivers that inspired me this past year, the Lochsa in Idaho definitely stands out. Its crystal clear waters flow through lush old growth forest between Montana and Idaho. We didnt get to run it in September, but marvelling at it was plenty for me.

Who's heard of pack rafting?

These incredible rafts pack down super small and weigh under 8 lbs. You can hike them into alpine lakes, or run remote sections of river with them. Best of all when you are covering distance on the water, you can zip your gear inside them!

We got to try this one (by ) when we were backpacking in Glacier National Park, and our friend Skip had packed it into the campsite.

It was an amazing treat to get out on this beautiful lake in the backcountry.

This past weekend it was 70 degrees in th front range, so we we got to go out paddling in shorts and t shirt!
