As we enter June we acknowledge the start of Pride month. We are able to celebrate pride due to the activism of many Black queer folkx. A well known activist who spearheaded the movement is Marsha P. Johnson who is credited with throwing the first brick during the Stonewall riots. A series of riots that erupted in response to the intense amount of violence the LGBTQ+ community faced from the police. We must always acknowledge the efforts made by Black queer folkx to advance the LGBTQ+ movement and the civil rights movement. We the CU Boulder Multicultural Greek Council will always be in full support of our LGBTQ+ members.
