Melon harvest time. I seriously dream about it throughout the long winter, enjoy starting them from seed in the spring, planting them in the greenhouse by early April, nourishing their growth all summer long. All for this moment, to include their sweet drippy juiciness ! This heirloom cantaloupe is one of our favorites.

Big summer time Leo energy this week. So many birthday celebrations with flowers. You know I love it! If this is your birthday weekend, I wish you loads of fun and I hope to make a flower bouquet for you too 🌸 #flowerarrangement #floraldesign #leoenergy

Layer - Spin - Wrap …the best technique for making your wrapped bouquet airy and luscious. I usually start with a base layer of greenery and the heaviest stems. Then layer spin layer spin, making sure the vary the length of the stems to add dimension and whimsy. Then it’s wrap with kraft paper, tie with twine, pop on my favorite Labellum sticker, and out the door. On its way to make someone smile. #wrappedbouquet #flowerdesign #flowerbouquet

This summer is filled with such a mix of extraordinary events. This chic dinner for the insanely talented designers of @seanewyork at @meridianboutique was dreamy. Gorgeous clothes, summer flowers and exquisite bites from my girl @anniemstarke I can’t wait for the next one

The cycle of garlic. One of my favorite favorites that we grow every year. Each harvest I save the biggest and bestest cloves for replanting. We are on a 7th generation now and really productive. The flavor is unparalleled. #growyourownfood #garliclovers #garliclover #backyardgarden

The raspberries have been extraordinary this Summer. And with this never ending heat wave, they are ripening quickly. With so many pints already harvested, l must admit, to eating plenty of them before they reach the bowl. Fomo and Tuna are particularly interested in helping me harvest and catch the few that fall. I may intentionally drop a couple for them too .

I always leave the roots on succulents that are used in my arrangements. After the flowers have faded and you are ready to take it all apart, the succulents can be replanted. It’s a wonderful way to repurpose the plant. And just like in this design, you can keep the branches and even the poppy pods will dry well and be fun to add to a little bud vase.

July is remaining green here in Bozeman, at least for the time being. Before we move into the crispier golden hues of August, these tall uncut grasses are the perfect textures for my arrangements these days. Almost every vase and bouquet flying out of the shop has a fluffy poof or two

Pretty much sums up my weekend plans. What about you? Still so many projects to get finished, but this is going to be my hyper procrastination mood. PS, the chickens LOOOVE eating dandelions leaves, it’s one of their staple favorites around the garden. If you have chickens, what do they love to munch on while grazing?

My friends, this week is going to be epic. So many things to get accomplished and never ever enough time to get it all done. With the 4th of July holiday almost in the middle of, I have decided to close the shop this week. Wish me luck for checking off this long to do list. See you at the shop 7/8. Hope you have a festive Independence Day!!!

We arrived in Bozeman 14 years ago this day, 6/30. It was the day of The Hail Storm. Broke thousands of windows throughout town, including massive damage to the MSU campus, countless rooves, cars, siding and so much more. Today, the hail arrived is much smaller, but still has packed a punk in the garden. Hope all of our neighbors and friends in the area are safe.

Summer party time means lots of summer arrangements

We’re back at it, in full summer swing. Flowers for weddings, elopements, corporate retreats and lots of sunshine parties. I am already in the color mood, but still thinking about how quickly Spring seemed to pass by this year.Pro Tip: Alstromeria should become your new friend. By removing as many leaves as possible, you get a fluffy clean look that add longevity to your arrangement.

It really makes an enormous difference when you create from the heart. As a floral designer, creating emotive arrangements hopefully allows the transfer of my heart to yours. Had a heartwarming experience yesterday when a beautiful bride picked up her wedding flowers. She loved them, was brought to tears, I welled up too. Thank you for the space to create for you. Pro Tip: remember your tape grid, makes all the difference 😏#floraldesign #floraldesigner #madewithlove

Anthirium inspired

I have been collecting metal flower frog cages for a some time now. I only use them for my own personal enjoyment and arrangements. Most are antiques and vintage and each time I use them it makes me so happy. Had to play with these insanely gorgeous garden roses, tulips, peonies and poppies. A momentary break from a busy day. Just a little something pretty for me to look at. I should probably take a pic of all the frogs to show you. What are you collecting these days? .#floraldesign #floraldesigner #flowerfrog #vintagecollection

Tricks for working with anemones

It’s been a spectacular week celebrating so many moms in our community . I feel intensely grateful to share these days with my precious mother. She has been in the shop every day this week helping prepare all of the gorgeous spring arrangements. I would not want to do it anyone else. Love your Mom, xoxo

Chickens know who you are. Their memory is so sharp, they can recognize and remember up to 100 different faces. Your family members, other chickens in their clock, and even your family dog and cat. They get excited when they see me in the morning and get ready for breakfast. Sometimes, maybe a little too eager though, and my fingers get mistaken for a wormie
