LUMINARIA

The Christmas season will be upon us in a short time. One of the most memorable sights in Tidewater Preserve is the streets lined with the luminary lights. Just a simple white lunch bag with a little sand and tea light candle transformed our streets into a wonderland.

The Shores as the new folks on the block has been slow to adopt this tradition. I propose we the residents of the Shores follow our neighbors on the Eastside and line our streets with the Luminary lights.

If we setup volunteer groups from the Terrances and the Coach Homes with a Captain for each group we can organize this with ease. I present the following plan

PLAN

Date : December 24, 2022 4:00 PM till 6:00 PM place the Luminary at curb line. Light candles at 6:30 PM (4 Hour burn time)

December 25, 2022 9:00 AM meet at pool and remove all bags. Dispose of bags and candles. Sand will be placed back in maintenance area.

Supplies Needed: White paper lunch bags. Walmart has them for $2.00 per 50 but at this time out of stock. We will need about 1100 bags. Candles, 4 Hour Bulk Unscented Tealight Candles - White (200 Pack) $24.15 per 200 We will need about 6 packs I have purchased 400 already.

Sand for bag base. We have the sand from Hurricane Ian.

Volunteers will be needed a couple of days before December 24 to fill bags with sand a place candle.
Volunteers will be needed who have a pickup truck and folks to place bags on curb line on December 24 PM
Folks will be needed on Christmas day to pickup used bags. It should only be 30-45 minutes with a good turnout.

If anyone wants to volunteer and /or lead a group, Please let me know.

At the meet and greet on November 6 I will have a signup list.

Let's light up our whole community.

Just a update of the October 25, 2022 Master HOA meeting:

The new Master BOD members have taken they're positions for 2022-2023.

President Pat Van Ryzin
Vice President Rick Weierbach
Secretary Ray Hassey
Treasurer Patty Taleff
Director Barry Berman

Congratulations to All

They talked about taxes that the Master HOA could face from any settlement with the state for I-75 and different ways to avoid the taxes.

Lennar has offered to sell the Marina to the HOA for 1 million dollars but must have a commitment by October 31, 2022 with closing by end of year. Discussion covered many area’s to include can the Marina be made a neighborhood, condo, HOA or slips sold to residents. It was discussed how the purchased would be financed and ways to not have a community vote. BOD voted to proceed with purchase from Lennar. They will discuss how it will be setup and how it is paid for at later time. The full discussion is at the 6:17 PM of recording. I feel we should make sure it is not purchased by an outside company.

A rewrite of HOA documents was due this week but attorneys have requested another week.

A resident did research on the access to Manatee River via natural openings in mangroves. He spoke to Government agencies that cover shoreline and mangroves. They all stated that it was not a violation to walk via a natural opening in mangroves for access to water for fishing and launching a kayak. A couple of meetings ago the Master HOA adopted a policy where they could fine a resident $1000.00 for walking the natural openings and authorized putting the ugly green fences up. The nature trail has many beautiful natural openings where you can see and enter the water without damaging any mangroves. Why would we want to put an ugly fence up. They were asked what statue they based the policy on and could not provide one. The full discussion is at the 7:13 PM mark on tape.

The BOD is dealing with millions of dollars that will effect everyone short and long term. Only 25 -30 folks attend the meetings out of 657 Homes. Attend meetings and voice your opinion. Be an informed resident.
