Supporting independent musicians and artists in the Friendly City since 2018.

is one of our favorite local bands. So much so they have been gracing the stage of the at Oscura for the last year!

One of our favorite moments was when they shared their platform with another local artist Karim .

The Friendly City Foundation is focused on creating environments for artists to share and create with the community and for the community to have places to gather to celebrate them.

A thriving arts scene means a healthy city.

At our December Friendly City Flea, we launched Project M.O.R.E! Students were able to participate in programming to learn firsthand what it looks like to be a creative small business owner.

Mission of Project M.O.R.E: Providing underestimated high school and college students in our community with: Mentorship. Opportunities. Resources. Education in business and life skills.

In Project M.O.R.E, each student is paired with a mentor, mentor group, and opportunities to learn to expose them to new opportunities in fields interesting and inspiring to them to give them first-hand experience with creative business ownership and process.

When you shop at the Friendly City Flea you help support more than just our small business economy but the health and wellness of our community.

Our Projects:

The Friendly City Flea

The Friendly City Flea began in 2018 when we saw the need for a local market gathering place for makers, musicians, and creatives.

1. We saw the need to have spaces for artists to have affordable places to sell and show their work and gather with one another in support and promotion.

2. We saw the need for local makers and our local community to come together meeting the needs of the maker and collector.

3. We also wanted to create a space for local musicians to have a platform and get paid for it.

Our first market was held in February of 2019 with 20 vendors and now four years later host a monthly market of 70+ vendors and receive hundreds of applications for each flea.

With a new season in front of us our plans include expanding our out door market to include more areas for music, an artist in residency program, and a student internship program.

Over the next few weeks we will be announcing our programing with the community! We hope you are following along to learn more about who, why, and what we do.
