My Story
Hello All! Below is a little blurb about how my art came to be.
I am originally from Carmel, California and grew up playing competitive tennis throughout my childhood and college years. While playing tennis, I suffered through many tennis injuries, one of which kept me from playing tennis for months. During this time, I struggled to find purpose and poured my heart into drawing resulting in a love for 2D art. After college, I was blessed to have been accepted into Veterinary School and art was put on a halt until my husband requested a “welcome home from deployment” present. I couldn’t say no! It was my first art piece in over 8 years (featured above) that sparked my creative side. Pet portrait doodling became commissioned art pieces. The process of drawing the commissioned pieces became an outlet to balance the daily stresses that come with the Veterinary profession. Perhaps what I love most about pet portraits is that they are a way to keep a memory of a fur baby far beyond their years. We all wish they would live longer than they do, but perhaps this was God’s way of helping us remember the frailty of life and enjoying each moment for the blessing that it is. Enjoy :)
